It was really a special little city. If you go back eat at Del's steakhouse and get the green chile seared steak. Also at the tractor and supply company they have a BBQ shed which is delicious.
Random side note, the Disney movie "Cars" based the town Radiator Springs on Tucumcari. Complete with the TP hotel you can park in!
