Oh well either way he won't be getting meaningful minutes.

He is the team captain, so who knows with Arsene.

Lucky goal there but what a nice little ball from Xhaka to start that

Mert will be fine for the cup matches and could get by playing bottom half teams in the epl. As long as he isn't starting against the likes of City, Spurs, and Chelsea we will be fine.

Okay, Giroud, we see you. We haven't forgotten that you can score nice goals too.

Giroud looks so amazing at times. He could actually play a kind of Zlatan role if he worked as hard.

Dangggg Iwobi what a goal! Kolasinac in on it again.... Giroud playing well too. I'm too excited for this season.

This team looks really, really crisp this half. Maybe take the £s and "say thanks for the memories Alexis"?

What about this formation if Alexis leaves... I honestly think this would be fantastic team anyways. If Alexis wants to leave so bad then we should let him because that would be toxic if we didn't... but send him to PSG and then use that money to buy someone world class who wants to be here...

But push Özil up into a CAM role, then have Ramsey and Jack man the deep midfield with Xhaka.

I'm cool with Arsenal forcing him to stay. We were always in the CL without him. The one season we rely on him we don't make it. Makes you go hmmm....

But for real, him staying is good for club morale. I don't care if he leaves for free next summer. He'll be nearly 30, and frankly I worry about his fitness. His all-action style will likely take a toll on his body sooner or later.

I'd go Bellerin over Ox, Monreal over Holding/Chambers, and I doubt Jack stays much less gets close to our first 11.

Haven't been a fan of gradient coloring, but love that shade of blue, so I like those road kits.

I like this lineup, except I think Monreal and Bellerin would both be pushing for the starting XI

A 1-2 of Lacazette and Giroud will be great IMO.
And you could say that Welbz and Theo would be the "second string" striker duo. Rotate those 4 and I think we'll be good tbh.

Interesting lineup today. Ox on the left and Lacazette up top finally!

Lacazette needs to look for his own shot more. Just part of the process of learning your new teammates and getting comfortable with them. He has looked sharp in our build up play though.
