Yeah that looks like the omega. It's full auto rated but it's not really meant for that kind of abuse.

Thank God I haven't tried my suppressor on my M249.

That seems pretty retarded and dangerous as hell, why would you keep firing when it got red hot like that? I can see having a machine fire the gun but why in the world would 2 guys be that close when that's happening?

That really has no practical bearing whatsoever on the quality of SilencerCo's cans. What cans can actually stand up to sustained M249 full auto fire, Knights? I know AAC makes one specifically for it. There can't be many more.

It's not. And I own several. I'm not sure any can would be able to handle it. I could be wrong, but don't care really. Worth the watch. That's all.

Is that barrel toast too?

What's the training for that weapon? I mean don't they usually have limits on how much you shoot in a certain time frame with those guns so that you don't burn the barrel up? You can see the barrel get hot, and shooting an entire box like that none stop is not really real world practical.

Not sure of the exact training, but I'm sure they're trained to fire in bursts. As I understand it, typically you'll have at least 2 SAW's firing alternating bursts to maintain ROF without overheating.

I remember reading a book, I believe about MACV-SOG, where the recon team came under ambush and the guy with the M60 had no time to change barrels and was shooting full auto until the rifling on the inside of the barrel wore off and he could no longer even aim the weapon.

I think I remember hearing a story similar to that as well. Those 60s had some fairly heavy barrels too.

My Silencerco Specwar is rated for full auto but man after about 20 rounds that thing would fry bacon.
