Whoever downvotes the OP has their head up their arse. Fournette would have been so much better in a creative offense. Hell it didn't even need to be that creative, just anything but run LF right run, run LF left, heave a sideline bomb. Les and Cams game plan was a fricking joke.

IF we had a good QB Miles would have passed it 90% of the time

What if Odell was used cratively. The list goes on

Most of Fournette's big runs weren't him creating. It was him running full speed through a gaping hole created by the O-Line and FB. Sure, he knocked guys aside and put on the odd juke now and then, But Guice is more creative, hence his averaging 2 yards per carry more.
But saying he could have done better with a more creative offesne is the most obvious, no shite thing he's ever said.
And LSU didn't do him a disservice. Miles and Cameron did.

Just my opinion but I believe Fournettes talent made it harder for Les to change his philosophy on offense. They didn't do anything special against Auburn in 2015 or Ole Miss in 2016.
I think it's easier or maybe more emphasis is placed on being creative on offense when you have lesser talent.

In a better offense he may have won the Heisman imho.

We needed a new bash Les thread. It has been a few days

And if we ran a gimmicky offense that he got hurt in they could be saying "You play to his strengths and play power football with him." Or "if he'd been in a pro style offense in college he would be more ready for the NFL." It's so easy to say afterwards what SHOULD have happened. Hell if Miles isn't here maybe Fournette doesn't even come to LSU. I'm glad he did and being selected in the top 5 and even considered (rumor) for the first overall pick I'd bet he is glad he did as well.

wasn't he the 4th overall pick in the draft?

LSU did not do a disservice to Leonard. Miles offense was a negative but this young man was profiled, supported, and cherished by the university and it's fans. He was drafted in the first round and he became a very well rounded and team oriented young man. Marcus comments are a disservice to LSU and Leonard.

he broke every single seasons rushing record in lsu history
He had the 2nd best rushing season in SEC HISTORY.
He was the 1st sec rb to lead the ncaa in rushing in over a half century.
He ran behind an oline built to run the ball and ran behind great fbs.

If LF7 was done a disservice whike playing for LSU it was the uneccessary punishment his body accrued running into 8 & 9 man stacked defenses!

It's the absolute truth, painful to some to hear but it's truth. Leonard knows it so does the entire LSU team. I think that is part of the reason why the LSU team had lost faith in Les Miles. Just a slight change in creative play calling and LSU broke all kinds of records. This isn't a coincidence. Now LSU has an offense that is 10 times more creative this team will respond in a big way.
Offense becomes more creative, special teams becomes more creative, LSU puts more points on the board, the LSU defense can take more risks, and make more plays. Watch out fellas we might have a recipe for success. If LSU has a big season this recruiting class will end well and next years will be legendary. As many as 8 5* prospects are seriously considering LSU and we have a great shot at signing them all if we can make this season look fun then if we end in the playoffs or big bowl that's icing on the cake. HTTDB

Fournette got what he needed from LSU... a big enough stage focusing on the run to showcase his talents and launch what will probably be a very successful and lucrative NFL career. If a disservice was done, it was done to LSU... by a coach who squandered his talents and caused the program to underachieve as a whole.

LF7 was a once in a lifetime talent. However, he had limitations. Tentative at times and this seemed to be especially true against Bama. He was also quite injury prone towards the end.
Now, having said that, when he was on, it was very special to watch. I would put his talent, at his best, on par (or exceeding) Faulk, Alexander and Cannon - particularly in his ability to take over a game from the tailback position.
