Also, the investigation unit would be investigating crimes. Patrol would be enforcing traffic laws and wrecks. You sound like an idiot.

Never understood how people don't realize that different units do different things in all companies and agencies. It's like asking an HR person why they are not working on accounting. His job is to give tickets and work wrecks to in theory keep the hwy safe as possible.

310 should be 70mph. It's no more elevated than I-10 from 202 to 206(which is 70mph) with a fraction of the traffic of the Spillway(rightfully is 60mph). But powers that be claim it's some fog hazard area.

I drive it Daily and that's 100% bullshite.

LSP Troop B makes BANK on that stretch and it benefits their budget to keep it at 60. End of story.

So because you believe a speed limit should be higher than what is posted that gives you the right to go as fast as you think is safe? If you decide to go faster than the limit knowingly, at least don't be a little bitch when you get a ticket for it.

LSP is the most elite LE agency in the state so they have that going for them.

On top of that the state police don't keep it at 60. They have no control over what the limit is. Elected officials decide speed limits. At least get facts correct if your going to talk shite.

So when Carlos Marcella (sp) and Huey Long were setting up slot machines all over the state, the LSP were the ones collecting the nickels?

It was originally called the Louisiana Highway Patrol, so I'm pretty sure that's exactly what they envisioned themselves doing.

No, they love to park in our little town and stop people for seatbelts all the time. Really.

You're a silly head. The Last ticket I got was in 2002 and oddly enough it was right there.
We were late for something for sis in law at a church in Lafite.

Speed limits should be consistent(look at the Staring lane debate) and enforced by all accounts.

The causeway is 65mph for fricks sake while this big wide open stretch of Auxiliary Interstate roadway is 60mph.

Don't be a tard.

Well, tell people to wear their seat belts. I'm not saying you specifically, but you can't be mad at the police for giving you a ticket for knowingly breaking the law. That's their job.

Yea. That shitshow has gone on for 3 years now. It was 35 then the stretch was overhauled and widened and upped to 45. Then it was lowered to 35 by Delgado and whiny babies.
Now it's back at 40 since last week b/c the new district 12 councilcount got it raised.

I can agree to disagree that speed limits should be consistent. I do think more notice should be required when going from higher speed limit to lower. Also, the only way to make a major highway one speed is to take that task of deciding a speed limit from local politicians and give it to state politicians.

I think their issue is that the police have more important things to do, however depending on what department and role within the department, traffic enforcement might be the job they do.

It is a mostly residential area, but dropping it to 35 was bullshite. 45 was just fine.

The thing is, It's not unheard of to increase the speed limit. I mean Remember when Foster wanted the whole stretch of 10 over the Basin lowered to 55. Now it's 60.

And in 2010 200 miles of 49 went from 70 to 75.

I think 65 is very fair mph on that 310. I'm a daily commuter on that stretch and it's fricked up how easy you can get up to 69mph passing someone and BAM that SUV is sitting on the shoulder waiting to frick your day up. My major issue is the frequency. AT LEAST 3 times a week they are posted up both sides in morning or afternoon. That's absurd and TOO efficient to be fair. Does that make sense? The epitome of a speed trap.

Down in White Castle on Hwy 1 just before Hwy 69, damn near everyday someone is pulled over for speeding. When you're getting into White Castle, limit drops from 65 to 35. Turn onto 69 and it drops to 30 then back up to 45. White Castle PD makes fricking money.

I know that's frustrating but I won't shite on small towns for doing it. Krotz Springs is same way, St Francisville, too.
They gotta pay bills. But Troop B LSP? SERIOUSLY?
