So if a team is incorrectly given a 5th down and the other coaching staff does notice it, do they immediately ask for a review, and does this qualify as a reviewable situation?

No they didnt. The TV markings were wrong. The first play at the 35 minute mark is actually 2nd and 2 from the 12, not 1st and 10 from the 12. They get the first down on that play and ESPN displayed 2nd down, rather than 1st down.

Alabama has just been better at football the last 6 years and that's all there is to it. Superior coaching and getting dominated on the LOS will get you beat every time .
I agree with all of this.

but some on here act as if the refs are out to sabatoge LSU, the conspiracies really take off against Bama.
The only time I have felt this way was in the 2009 game. PP7 picking the pass and taking 3 steps in bounds and the call being missed. Ok calls are missed but even when it went to review they still ruled it incomplete. Then earlier in the game when JJ was hit late and speared in the chest and no call was made.

No they didn't. This was discussed in numerous threads after the game. The announcers said one of the plays was a first down, but in reality it was not. It was still 2nd down.

quote:You are completely wrong after all of that. ESPN didn't mark 2nd down. They then marked 2nd Down when it was actually 3rd down.

We should all thank Auburn for giving us a whole new coaching staff.

Reading comprehension....not your best attribute.

Yes can't believe more ppl didn't notice this.

Like many others have said, it happened correctly on the field, but ESPN screwed up the display on TV. However, even it that had been the case, it wouldn't have changed anything. Auburn would have just kicked the field goal one play earlier.

If this is all you have to do, you are one bored individual. Why not step outside...and while there, get a life!

Auburn had the following plays:
1st and 10 from the 13-gain of 4
2nd and 6 from the 9-gain of 2
3rd and 4 from the 7-gain of 3
4th and 1 from the 4-sack, loss of 9
5th---field goal
Not correct.
Auburn had 1st and 10 from the 20--gained 7 to the 13 (ESPN graphic had this as gaining a first down, but chains are at the 20 and the 10)
2nd and 3 from the 13--gained 4 for a First Down (ESPN graphic had this as resulting in 2nd and 6, but you can see the chains are no longer on the sideline because it's now goal to go)
1st and G from the 9--gained 2
2nd and G from the 7--gained 3
3rd and G from 4--lost 9
4th and G from the 13--Field Goal
Where ESPN got confused was on a 2nd and 7 from the 35 when Auburn gained right at 7 yards to the 28 and it was close whether it was a first down. ESPN thought it was a first down, so on the run to the 20 on the next play their graphic changed to 2nd and 2 (or 3?), and on the run to the 13 on the play after that it changed to 1st and 10 from the 13, which is the sequence you have listed.
What actually happened was the refs marked Auburn just short of the first down on that 2nd and 7 play from the 35 (it was actually just a shade inside the 35) that gained to the 28, so the next play (actually 3rd and inches but ESPN was calling it 1st and 10) went to the 20 and gained a first down, making it 1st and 10 from the 20. From there, the sequence I outlined above is what happened.

I believe TV had the wrong down and distance.

OH MY frickING GOD.
I was at the game. They DID make an error on the chains briefly and on TV. The referees on the FIELD however did NOT make a mistake.
You can go see the drive charts if you want.
Please put this to bed. We would have lost our shite at the game.

I have much bigger beef with Auburn 06.
Posted on 7/8/17 at 2:04 am to Wes225
They let the clock run on the final drive when it should have stopped after first downs and runs OOB.
The fricking SEC needs to address this blatant cheating. Florida did the same shite to Tennessee in 15.
Yet no one is held accountable...
