Allen crabbe is pretty good. But he plays about 20 something minutes a game and scores 10 pts a game. 18 million a year.

using ppg in your argument while defending a 6'8" guy who shoots 38% from the field and averages a handful of points per game is laughable Beany

I'm really just tired of people coming in here and saying he's overpaid because "he's solomon fricking hill" I have yet to see one solid argument, and now fricking lester has us in here discussing whether Austin Rivers is good or not.

How about wins above replacement. Solo - 2.7, Rivers - 0.5

Hill is paid for his defense. Dumbass. Just like Shumpert or some of tge other guys I listed. Ppg is an example of the pay scale that average players who contribute on offense or defense get paid.
A part time player who contributes on offense or defense gets paid bank in the nba. I listed more than enough players to show that. Your just an idiot.

Rivers is an example of why Hill isnt overpaid as bad arse has been exaggerated on this board. Asik doesnt even play. His contract is horrible. Rivers is on par with Hill. A serviceable player on offense. So he gets 12 million a year. Hill is a serviceable player on defense (like shumpert etc).
How hard is this to understand? Average players get paid 10-15 million in the nba. fricking figure it out.

Agreed NotCooper. These dudes just dont get how much nba players make. They are paid more than MLB on average. NBA players make bank.

Yea P bean. It's the internet age, you're the only one that can google salaries & has access to NBA games. You are just a fountain of knowledge

It's only year 1 into his contract, so you can't close the book on him. Year 1 it's a bad contract. $12m per for "3 & D".. you may get the D but you're not getting the 3
These numbers were through 3/8/17 through 65 games, per Ginsberg
He shot 34% on corner 3s when league avg is 39% from the corner (76 attempts). Career 36% from there in 187 attempts to that point
93% of his 3PA were classified as open or wide open, he his 33% of those shots
Hill took 61 three pointers with at least 15 seconds left on the shot clock, making 20 of them (32.8%)
You can find the threads, i was all over the Hill signing; thought it was great. I love what he adds to the culture of the team and his relentless hustle, but if I have to sit through 41 games at the blender and watch him clank wide open 3s. He's overpaid and has to be better, I'm sure he would agree with that

38%
...it's the only argument I need.

Your post is way too rational. I will say if he's overpaid, it's not "grossly". I looked up and down the SF salaries, there isn't a bunch of guys making less than solomon that I'd rather that aren't in their rookie contract, taking a discounted rate (like rudy gay for ex), or in the 3rd or 4th year of an older contract. There is also no fkn way that Rivers at 12m is incomparably better than "Solomon fricking Hill".
I also got chuckles out of imagining the grin on lester's face everytime Bean posted something else.

Apparently you cant since you dont get it.
LINK
Ian mahinmi gets 16 million and put up 5 points and 4 rebounds. But he gets paid because he's a rim protector.
fricking jackass

Look I'm not arguing that he's great or that he doesn't need to improve offensively. I'm arguing that he's probably an 8-10 million dollar player who's making 12, and I think we should stop crucifying Dell over this one.
I'm glad you've finally brought some semblance of logic into this thread. My angle from the start was that wing defenders get paid, whether they can shoot or not - Roberson ($10M), Shumpert ($10M), Bazemore ($16M)...

Lol, agreed. The argument is not whether he should play better is overpaid. Its the fact that folks on here don't understand that its not as bad as its been made out on Pelicans talk.
Asik doesnt even play and he was deemed better than Hill contractually.
Im done with Earl. He is just a troll. You cant reason with arbitrary arguments.

If he was getting $8mil this thread doesn't get made
I mean come on. Stop acting like we're crazy

Dude we have these same conversations about E'Twaun Moore who's a better shooter and gets $8 mil. People here literally think neither one should be paid a dime over the minimum. A lot of this board is crazy lol.

Let's give Solo at least another year to the All-star break to assess his contract. If he has an Otto Porter year, we would be saying he's a steal and then thinking Top 4 in the West contender. Alot was working against the team in the early part of last year.
Hopefully, a year in the system, a healthy start and some continuity with the roster will help the team gel faster.
I believe Hill surprises this year and becomes a key reason we finish Top 6 in the West.
