So then by all means please try to insult them all with the 'gotcha' it's not science routine/what is 'hidden'. That's genius and also very kind.

Yeah, but Ph.D.

So, it's a scientific link.

Nobody is insulting anyone, snowflake.

I'm sorry questioning the science behind te genetics is too sensitive for your little piggy ears; but in real life reality; it's not.

Carry on, my little snowflake. Blame others for their simple questions and calling them "attacks."

You are a very weak man.

Nope, I'm a strong woman who voted for Trump and am able to see the foolishness that comes from the left. Your problem is that I also recognize the foolishness that comes from the right.

Lol. Then tell me where the science proves there is a gene involved in being gay.

Because I don't believe foolishness on an internet chat site from some random Arkansas fan.

It's cool tell me about all this science you know about.

Umm, tell me where I even alluded to having scientific proof??? I did not. That doesn't mean this thread is still not idiotic, especially the post I referenced in my previous comment.

IOW, you could be toothless with a spittoon in one hand while wearing overalls and no shoes and not look any more ignorant than that post.

It's funny that none of you can point to a scientific study that says there is a gene that will cause homosexuality.

One need not identify a single gene responsible to establish the heritability of a particular trait. Consider a trait that's not politically charged to demonstrate, say handedness. About 10% of the world's population is left-handed, but if you have 2 left-handed parents, your chances rise to ~25% of being left-handed yourself. There's no single gene or even small handful of genes found in all lefthanders, yet the closer you're related to a lefthander, the more likely you are to be lefthanded.

You see these "polygenic traits" all over the place in behavior - intelligence is one. Personality traits are another. Mental health disorders like clinical depression, bipolar disorder, alcoholism, schizophrenia are others.

And look, homosexuality too.

quote:

The bulk of the available evidence suggests moderate heritability for male sexual orientation. Female sexual orientation has been studied much less extensively, but current studies are consistent with a genetic contribution for women as well.

Handbook of Behavior Genetics

And why should we be surprised that our mental and behavioral traits should be no less inherited than our other traits? Remember again that the science is so robust it created Turkheimer's First Law of Behavioral Genetics - all human behavioral traits are heritable.

I honestly don't know whether there is a genetic component or not, and while I don't think you have been making this argument people seem to be incorrectly equating choice with genetics.

In other words, there are a number of biological factors largely outside of one's control that can have an impact. For example, while schizophrenia does appear to have some heritability, the development of the disorder cannot be explained by it alone, or even close. Yet, there is a clear physiological basis, and I don't know anybody would argue one chooses to develop schizophrenia.

Right. I said last night I believe this to be true.

It still makes no proof that they are born this way.

Something, which we don't know, is a precursor to environmental settings.

I call bullshite!!!

There is no fricking way that anyone can determine a 4 year old child is homosexual.

Not sure how anyone knows for sure that they are a homosexual prior to puberty.

Just because the studies haven't been published in a peer reviewed journal yet, that isn't proof the conclusions of the studies aren't correct.

But the fact that they haven't been published in a peer-reviewed journal when the guy pushing them is clearly on a religious mission, and that many journals would accept the study if valid because of the impact...that's a pretty good indicator that they're biased.

It doesn't matter whether he is biased in his belief as long as he has enough evidence that proves his belief is correct even if it isn't published in a peer-reviewed journal.

They can't. It's the same political correct bullshite that they want us to conform to with calling a trans man a "she."

It's either like what we are telling you and face our facts are you're just a homo/transphobe.

It may not be environmental though. Sexual development has so many biological factors that occur later in development, that it could be related to those.

But...but...but how do they determine whether the 4 year old boy is a homosexual or a female trapped in a male's body?
