Right, so add to the list a final expenses insurance policy though Penn Life (Alex Trebek pitches it on Jeopardy) so your kid won't have to come out of pocket for your casket, plot, and service in 40 years.

Sounds like you got cucked waking up in the middle.of the night warming up milk for someone's child. Hope it's yours.

From 7 weeks on, my daughter was in bed at 8 and up at 7. She is 15 months now and literally on the same schedule. We are beyond lucky.
The first 7 weeks were a grind. She was up every 3 hours or so to breastfeed. I would wake up half delirious, take a piss, and stay up just long enough to keep the wife company while she was breastfeeding. She says she didn't care, but it felt like I was carrying my weight.
OP should know that this is not normal, yall were lucky (as you conceded).
Congrats!

They don't have to be of working age to earn income. My company writes a check to each of my children's IRAs each year. They're 4 & 2.
You may want to delete this and find a new accountant.
This is what some people call "money laundering".

Ryno, quit acting tough. We all know who wears the strap on in your marriage.

I would recommend contacting Little Z Sleep. She is based out of Virginia, but helped us tremendously to get a schedule set and stick to it. Since 8 weeks, my daughter has slept from 7 to 7 every night. She also never spent a single night in our bedroom. Routine is so important. Be sure to stick with it and don't give in.

Not when they pay taxes on it. Thanks for the shitty advice tho, you seem really good at it.

It's not that big of a deal. You will handle the sleep interruptions no problem. There's no need to "train" for it. The baby cries/needs you, you get up and handle it when it's your turn. Simple as that.
One tip... if you keep a rigid schedule with your kid, it's easier overnight. Don't vary bedtime at all.

I don't know if it's been mentioned but...
Sleep when the kid sleeps.
You cannot prepare for their inconsistent and hopes crushing sleep schedule.
Baby slept 3 nights in a row...thank god...baby wakes up every 45 mins for the next four weeks...wtffffffff
Don't take it personally. You'll be amazed what u can do with less sleep.

No point doing anything now. You have no idea what kind of schedule you'll be on. Our first one used to wake up at 1:00 am like clockwork. I'd feed him, change him, get him back to sleep then head to the gym at 2:00 am since I'm awake once I wake up anyway.
Second one woke up starting at 10:00 pm pretty much every hour for a few months. Just about killed me but whatever the case you'll make it through and congratulations on the little one.

You and TB08 are the only ones in this thread trolling and giving bad advice.
And leave nurse alone. She can't help it. She's always going into threads like this and feeding the trolls.

Never microwave breastmilk or formula as it doesn't heat up evenly. It can burn the baby's mouth.
That's why I said to mix it.

I have twins and they slept through the night at 4-5 months as long as one of them didn't get pissy.
Same her. My twin girls are 7 months and they have been sleeping through the night for about 3 months. This past weekend they both slept till 10am on Saturday & Sunday mornings...... it was amazing to be able to sleep in on a weekend for the first time in awhile.
To the OP.... don't worry about it. There's really nothing you can do to prepare for the life change that's about to hit you. I don't mean that in a negative way either. It's great all around, and while there will be some sacrifices, they won't affect you nearly as much as you think they will. You'll figure it out. Congrats & Good luck.

I love in a thread for "awesome" dads, we've got a bunch of people in here talking about not getting up in the middle of the night. You may not be able to breastfeed your child, but you can change the baby's diaper, rock them back to sleep after they're done eating, get your wife some water etc. There's no reason that should only be the mom's responsibility. Congrats on the incoming baby, OP. My daughter turns 9 months next Monday, and like everyone says it goes by way too fast.

If it hasn't been said, hire a night nurse. You can pay her from your beer money. Problem solved.
