P5 schools scared to play ULL? (LSU related)

Heard Bob Marlin, ULL's head basketball coach being interviewed on 103.7 in Lafayette this evening, and a comment was made that struck me as bizarre. Apparently, according to BM, P5 schools are afraid to schedule ULL. Mentioned specifically not being able to schedule in Texas or Louisiana, and couldn't even get a scrimmage scheduled.
Now clearly, he is referring to LSU when he talks about P5 schools in Louisiana. Why would anyone be scared to schedule ULL? I get that LSU basketball wasn't very good last year, but come on now.

Oh, that reminds me. Bob said ULL won the State Championship last year for highest RPI in Louisiana.
ULL with the moral victory.
ULL with the moral victory.

A ULL person with a chip on his shoulder about the big boys. Shocking. Like finding a gay person in the Village People.

Nothing to gain? It's not like UL will boost RPI.
Playing Louisville in basketball most certainly would boost RPI win or lose.

It's not about being scared,Bob. There is no benefit to a p5 team by scheduling you. Now, if the Cajuns could become a dominate Sun Belt team that won that league every year, had a high rpi and was an upset threat every year in the dance then you would have people wanting to play you.

We've played them somewhat recently.(last 5-7 years?) Beat them of course
Edited: We played them in 2001, 04, 05, 08, 09 and won all of those. Before that, played them in 1945.
Series record LSU 36 UL-Lafayette 10

I do kind of feel for schools like ULL. With many sports putting such an emphasis on OOC scheduling and RPI, P5 schools are going to give fewer opportunities to smaller conferences than they already do. The Big Ten has already mandated that their members schedule at least one P5 opponent outside of the league for football.
That said, it has nothing to do with being scared. It has to do with protecting own self-interests. ULL would do the exact same thing if hell froze over and they joined a P5 conference.

The guy basically said LSU waa scared to play them, and would not schedule them.
That's about as LSU related as you can get without being strictly about LSU.

No what it is about is ULL people still have a chip on their shoulder because they think they should be same status as LSU. If you talk to any of them, they say there is a big rivalry between LSU and ULL. That rivalry only exists in ULL graduates and students heads. No LSU grad gives a flip about ULL. They are not in the same league.

USL is 0-22 against LSU. USL has never scored more than single digits in a fricking game vs LSU. USL has only scored 1 touchdown vs LSU and only scored 25 points all time vs LSU in 22 fricking games. LSU once beat Ull 93-0. It's a blowout everytime we play then and it's not ever competitive. USL isn't near the level LSU is and I'm pretty sure LSU isn't fricking scared to play USLolololol. Haha, LSU would best ull with its backups starting and that's the truth.
Oh, we are talking about basketball...Pretty much the same kinda deal. LSU is a way better program than USL and I'm sure they aren't scared to play them. USL has always said dumb shite like this and it totally hilarious because some of them honestly believe they are big time. Haha.

Most Lake Charles people are huge LSU fans. Its the small town mentality douches that root for mcneese and Lafayette. Don't dog LC too bad

They would have had a good chance to beat us last year. That window might be closing soon
