I don't know if it is that as much as people realizing that losing 3 players in the first round of the NFL draft will affect your football team. Wasn't it 5 defensive players in the first 3 rounds? And LSU should improve on defense? How many OL are gone?
So begin the excuses before the season starts. Tell me, what will they be the next year? The year after?
Again, he sold it on no drop off.

What exactly has O done to make you think he is an upgrade?
Seriously???
Tell me what you disagree with? I am patiently waiting for your intelligent response on the matter.
Let's play a game, shall we? I'll list the things why I think any "objective" observer with a lick of sense could realize that anybody that thinks the hire is a failure or bad is just not being "objective" at all. You in turn can tell me the points you disagree with and why I should still think the hire was a bad one and have doubts about O and the program:
I'll list the point and give my *opinion of whether I think it makes LSU a better program or not:
1) Fired Cam Cameron - *YES
2) Fired Bradley Dale Peveto - *YES
3) Fired Dameyune Craig (recruiting coordinator last class - had a WR committed since the previous year and found out on signing day the guy would not qualify. Not a good WR's coach. - *YES
4) Fired Jabar Juluke - RB coach responsible for Derrius Guice going the wrong way and missing out on every RB recruit except one. - *YES
5) Extended Dave Aranda - *YES
6) Promoted Dennis Johnson (Meatball) who out-recruited Tom Herman for K'lavon Chaisson. He was and may still be the nation's #1 rated recruiter for the 2018 class. - *YES
7) Hired Tommie Robinson RB coach - the nation's #1 rated recruiter for the 2017 class. Has coached in the NFL as well as college. - *YES
8) Hired Matt Canada OC - the only Broyles award candidate on the offensive side of the ball last season. - *YES
9) Hired Mickey Joseph WR - has life long ties to the New Orleans and Louisiana and has been recruiting the area for years - *Remains to be seen
10) Hired Pete Jenkins DL - Probably the most well known and acclaimed D-Line coach in football - college and pro. - *YES
11) Responsible for Austin Thomas being at LSU. - *YES
12) Took over USC mid-season after they had gone 4-7 in their last 11 games and with the exact same team - same coaches, players, staff, admin, etc and went 5-2 including a win over the #4 team in the country. Going from 4-7 to 5-2 at USC. - *YES
13) Took over a lackluster LSU team and guided them to a 7-2 record breaking three all-time offensive records with a TE's coach leading the offense. And now he has hired the only offensive Broyles Award candidate running the offense. - *YES
14) Has coached under and owns 4 NC rings with coaches who could be considered the best two coaches to ever coach in college and pro football winning titles in both - Jimmy Johnson and Pete Carroll. - *YES
15) Is he changing the culture of LSU football for the better as has been mentioned by several current and former players and outsiders alike. - *YES
16) Is known as a great recruiter.
He was named the 2004 National Recruiter of the Year by The Sporting News and Rivals.com.
In 2011, he was named the Scout.com/FOXSports.com National Recruiter of the Year
In 2011, ESPNU/ESPN The Magazine named him the top recruiter in college football (and third best in all of collegiate athletics)"
In 2012, Sporting News selected him as the nation's No. 2 recruiter.
Rivals.com ranked him as the second-best recruiter of the previous 10 years (2002-11).
- *YES
17) LSU finished #7 on 24/7 and ESPN and #8 on Rivals after signing only 23 players and being the head coach for a matter of months. And this after Coach had shut down all on-campus recruiting during the fall semester including official visits even for committed players until a new coach was hired. - *YES
Sorry for the long post.
I look forward to knowing the above points you disagree with or points that counter what I posted that you know of, that I failed to mention.

18) Lost to the only two teams with a decent run defense. YES

Well you have to realize that now that Ed Orgeron is the coach its not on the head coach when an offensive player looks lost in a critical situation.
During a 30 second timeout the head coach doesn't usually have time to go to ALL 11 players and confirm their assignments with them.
Guess who should? Guess who was fired? Guess who was replaced with a coach who has NFL and college experience at the position and was the #1 national recruiter this past recruiting class?
Don't know?? Well you thought Austin Thomas was a coach on LSU's staff so it's probably just par for the course. If you need the answers to the above questions you can just let me or Coach Austin know and we'll get the info to you in short order.

Holy shite, how much did Fat Goebbels pay you to compile that list?

Still believing this, or did you just forget to delete it from the list you copy and paste from after it was proven how ridiculous your stance is?
He's responsible for Thomas being here in the sense that he could have fired everyone involved with the program had he chosen to. But he wasn't responsible for Miles hiring Thomas in April 2013 no matter how much you try to spin it.

This season could easily be a 4-5 loss season and not be a reflection of O not being able to coach.
This is precisely why the hire sucks, and I still dislike it. I'll give him a chance, but the optics of the hire sucks, the reasoning sucks, and the fans of the hire are completely illogical about it.
The whole point of the hire was consistency. That was the sell. Yet a 4-5 loss season is not on O. This pretty much says that O will be impossible to get rid of without an 8-9 loss season. And even that might be tough.

Imagine that, a team without an offensive coordinator not beating Alabama and Florida.
Too bad for you they hired a real OC for the coming season.

That's a whole lot of 'meh'.
The best thing he did was keep aranda, and it took 2.5m to do it. I'm fine with that but let's not pretend he went out and found him.
Canada could very easily be Gary growton 2.0

Lol, no the frick he's not. Thomas was here before O was even hired as DL coach. You're going way above and beyond trying to justify a terrible hire, and you like to hate on Rickdaddy for doing the same thing from the opposite end.

Like I said, 10+ wins shuts up a lot of people, under 10 then we have essentially replaced the production Miles would give with a lesser version, under 7 and LSU made a huge mistake.
Next year if he can't achieve 10 wins (assuming he didn't this year) then the fire gets turned up. LSU fired Les for not winning 10+ and failing to beat Alabama. The standard should be the same. O had a season with the team and a full offseason so I'm not expecting a drop off
All of this, but 8 is the floor. miles never won less than that. O should be fired if he only wins 7. Admit they were wrong, get O out before he does more damage and give it to Aranda.
However, I guarantee we wouldn't fire O at 7. That would be an awful situation to be in. He better win 10+ or lose 6+. Anything else will cause problems.

Yeah screw that bullshite. A team with this much talent should not lose 4 games. If he loses 5, I hope alleva hands him a box to pack.

You O supporters/Miles detractors bang your chest about what Ensminger did with Miles' players in one breath, then in the next say this.
Posted on 6/29/17 at 4:06 pm to BayouBengals18
And then he'll say that Miles only won with Saban's players yet ignore that O "won" with 100% of Miles' players and 99% of Miles' staff (same goes for his interim stint at USC)

It's going to take a lot more than 5 losses for Alleva to do anything. Alleva's job depends on how O does, so he's going to do everything in his power to cover up anything negative. The excuses have already started, just wait until we're 6-6 in 2019...

Nah bruh, O fired Cameron and picked Ensminger to be OC. But you can't hold Florida and Bama against them. It wasn't their fault. The players that Miles recruited, the coaches he hired, O didn't have time to insert Section 3.1 Page 6 from the binder.

Probably right. Its amazing how the O supporters have already started lowering expectations to this degree.
I guaran-damn-tee you miles wouldve won 10 games this coming season. Anything less than that is an utter failure.

Two of my co-workers are pretty avid followers of LSU football, and also pretty big supporters of O.. They have told me over and over that we will only have 2 losses max this season.. I can't wait to hear their excuses when we lose 4 games.. I'm sure it will somehow be Les Miles' fault..
