Don't blame Reynolds he did his part !!! Did he not have 3 scoreless innings give him some credit !!!! Coaches fault for not pulling him before 2nd walk!!!

I agree, Florida should be ashamed that game was that close. They had every advantage heading in.

We got this.

Nobodys blaming Reynolds, he was great through 3 1/3 but CPM definitely should have pulled him after the 2nd straight walk (probably should have after the first one) and it appeared he was going to pull him and Dunn may have talked him out of it?

Anyone else know for sure if thats what went down between Dunn and Mainieri in the dugout after the 2nd walk?

The kid did well for 3 innings... he was placed is tough spot and did his job. He got into trouble in the 4th and gave up 3 walks.

don't be down on the kid... he didn't blow it for LSU... he did his job... the score was 0-0 when he left the game, and that's about all he could do. Sure, not walking the bases loaded in the 4th would have been better... but all-in-all, Russ Reynolds was not the reason LSU lost.... great pitching by Florida and a few unfortunate things going UF's way just led to a 1 run loss.

LSU has every opportunity to come back and win this -- just as they would if this was regular season SEC play... we lost the first game of a series multiple times (with Lange on the mound) and prevailed in the next game.... have faith - but don't be down on a player, please.

EXACTLY.. ALSO, he said that the game last week hurt us because of shadows of the sun. The next two games are an hour later. Watson couldn't see that fly that cost us a double. CPM knows what he is doing. He has surely coached more championships than some of the people on this board... pee wee league mentality.

As far as the base running mistakes, had the break gone the other way, those boys would have been heros. Smith was heartbroken. I felt awful for that kid.

Reynolds pitched well. But went 2-0 on the last two batters in the third and both hit the ball hard just right at someone. I think he was 1-1 or 2-1 on the last batter and seemed to be laboring when Florida tried to steal and bailed him out.
.
When he came out in the fourth he should have come out of the game when he walked the first. Especially when he walked the second.
.
At that point it was the coaching staffs fault as he either lost confidence when the top of the order came up or was just completely out of gas. Can't blame the kid for the coaches not getting him out of there.

That's so damn unnecessary and unfair. The kid did what he was supposed to do in 3 innings. Coach made a poor decision and owned up to it.
