Why is your lazy arse father retiring at 65? Especially knowing his sick wife will get kicked off her plan? He's absolutely heartless to his poor wife. My grandparents both still work and they are 71.

Of course they don't need to work as they are quite wealthy. But they still go to work and pay out the arse in taxes.

That's good. Sounds like you won't need the govt to take money from others to do what you should and apparently will do.

My parents are dead. One died at 49, the other at 62. Neither got anything out of the system they both paid into for so long. You misunderstand..it's your parents I don't give a frick about..

My dad worked at a manufacturing plant for over 40 years. His insurance is amazing. For him and my mom they pay less than $800 a year in premiums, because he was grandfathered in on the old insurance plan. Not for sure what the deductibles are, but they are low.

When ACA passed, my monthly premium was under $800. It's now over $1250.

Well, they should be grateful for having such amazing insurance for so long.

Now it's time to pay their fair share.

A 60+ year old paying so little is pathetic.

Sounds like he shoulda been able to save enough to keep your mom from relying on the good will of others (that and the federal govt ability to take) for insurance.

Simple solution -- Tell your dad to put off retirement until your mom is eligible for Medicare. That way your family will take care of its own needs instead of forcing others to pay for your mother.

Sorry about your parents who died young. Similar thing happened to my wife. One parent died her first semester in college and the other died two years later.

However, it does sound like you are a dick. Let me only think of myself.
My parents didn't get anything so why should yours.

Sounds like you need to go to church or a therapist.

If that's the case, you're going to REALLY hate Ocare once your mom is forced onto it. If the GOP does nothing, she'll be paying a lot more than $800 a year in premiums and the deductible will be several thousand dollars.

Tell your lazy arse father that.

Mr. I turn 65 so I'm gonna retire and have my cancer stricken wife kicked off her health insurance because I wanna be a lazy old fart.

Retired two years ago. It helps when you start paying into SSN at the age of 13. He also was able to retire at a younger age because he kept the same job for over 40 years.

He retired before she had cancer. His company agreed to keep them on the insurance until his 65th birthday.

You seem like the kind of person who had parents buy them their first car and gave them money while they went to college.

No need to work while your parents help with everything, but screw them when they get old.

Guilty. What does that have to do with your father being a lazy frick who retired early and refused to come out of retirement knowing his wife whom has cancer is about to get kicked off her health care plan?

Smart business decisions often pay dividends. Excellent business decisions help not only you, but your kids. And your kids kids. And your kids kids kids.

And for those wonderful land purchases and business decisions my ancestors made I am thankful. It's nice getting free money for pipeline/oil/gas/farm/hunting leases.

Thanks great great grandpa. You Fa real MVP.

That means her premiums will be extremely expensive and will probably not be able to afford them.

Yep, because that is what the abomination known as the Affordable Care Act has done to many hardworking people out there, including my parents.
