Witnessed an early 20's guy get out of his car with his pit bull on a leash. Well, pit bull spotted a chihuahua being walked by an old guy walking into the store. Pit got away, took off, grabbed the chihuahua and threw him in the air. Lil young dude ran over and was beating the dog, but the dog didn't even feel it. I think it would've taken everything out of me not to beat the piss out of the lil dude! If I owned a dog that big and decided to bring his aggressive arse to Pet Smart, I would be sure to have 100% control of it at all times!

I know, CSB! I had to vent! Pissed me off!

Chihuahua was screaming as the old guy was holding him. Had a pet doctor in the store so I believe they brought it there.

This makes me sad just reading this.

1) Poor little dog
2) Poor old man...just bringing his doggie to PetSmart likely to buy more treats or something and that happens

I witnessed the exact same story except it was a fine young woman walking a poodle. Pit got the dog and shook it. The retarded 20 something dog owner got control of his dog but it had already injured the poodle and the girl. I'm sure it happens multiple times daily. frick those dogs

I would be pretty traumatized if I saw my dog attacked like that.

I really do feel for the old man. Many senior citizens...they LOVE their pets. They may live alone or whatever and their pets are their primary source of companionship.

ETA: I need to go hug my dog after reading this thread

My dad has Alheimer's disease. He has a little poodle that is with him constantly. If he lost that dog it would mean his world.

I wish you could give us an update. I really feel like I need to know if the Chihuahua is ok.

I'm sure 20 minutes before all this happened the pit bull owner would have flipped his shite if someone would even hint that his dog is aggressive. He would have spent 10 minutes giving the white trash explanation "it's all how you raise them, baw".

After his dog attacked the chihuahua, I'm sure he would be fast to explain how the chihuahua was a threat and that his dog was protecting him.

I would have shot that pit right there if that was my little dog.

To be fair...pits are not the only types of dogs that can kill a human.

A one year old was just attacked and killed here in PHX because the guard dog(a Rottweiler) got into the house and charged straight at the child. The grandmother couldn't get the dog off the child. Took several minutes for police/ambulance to show up. Police had to shoot the dog (didn't kill it..just injured it) to get the dog off child...child died at the hospital.

Do you know if the owner had a training collar (pinch) on the Pit?

My guess is no, because if he did, the dog would have never gotten away.

Owner incompetence matched with a powerful and dangerous dog equals a recipe for disaster.

Aw yes the good old "I'm going to calm my aggressive dog down by showing it my aggression." Classic dog training technique. Dude sounds like a shitty owner.

a pit bull can jump higher than someone could possibly lift the little dog, except maybe Shaq or something. Plus it would have just knocked the person down anyway.

Pit ran without barking. Old man had no idea that the pit was coming. I didn't see any blood. Hopefully, at worse, just a few bruised ribs. Pit had just a normal collar that you would put on a poodle! I told my wife that the strength of 10 men would not have stopped me from beating the living shite out of that white trash pos!

This is quite the tale you've spun. What Petsmart location? City/street/etc.
