How do you know that an MRI wasn't already done?
Good point.

Although if he's already had an MRI, I suspect its results would be front page news on the sports section.

But then again, maybe they'd keep it under wraps until after LSU's CWS is over.

Just curious if any of those posters attacking the OP are the same ones that question why a football player waits until the summer to have surgery on an injury from the previous season.

So if he had an MRI in Omaha and it showed no structural injury, you'd make him pitch even though he had so much pain in his arm last Monday that he took himself out of a College Word Series game?
No, the OP was insinuating that if the mri showed no structural damage AND IF Walker was feeling better that MAYBE they could get a couple of very important innings out of him if needed.

zero chance after how the last 10 days played out. The point of not doing it is that there is no point of doing it. When he gets back to BR, he can get the MRI and see docs he'll possibly be working with through the entire rehab process. He's just a freshman; more comfortable that way.

It could also be a distraction. If something is wrong, then it leads to more questions for the staff and other players while they're going to worry about him more.

Finally, when and where would this take place? Who would go with him? Cory has plenty of work to do with a full team of injured/aching players. He doesn't have off days. The whole staff is working every day.

Walker needs to soak his arm in a ice cooler of Bud Light for a couple hours.

They (team dr, physical theropist, coaches) prlly have a good idea of the cause. Pain/discomfort is what keeps him out. Esp in forearm affecting fine tuned control. Wanting to keep the extent of the injury in house.
....as stated earlier. He took himself out in 3rd inning of CWS, something he's dreamed about since he was 8.......it not a ice & aleve and go agin in two days injury.

The team doctors are there in omaha and have already examined him. Also keep in mind his velocity on the last three pitches was way down. The mri will confirm if he needs surgery or not. The events that occurred warrant shutting him down.

If the MRI is positive then he is absolutely done. If they don't do one there is an opening for him to return.
