Thinking about learning a new language for fun. German always has seemed like a kick arse language.
Anyone done this? If so, what method/software/etc. did you use?

Took it in high school and at LSU. Also have done Rosetta Stone. German is easy to learn because English is a Germanic language. It is fun to learn and speak. Give it a go.

The Army taught my buddy basic German in about three weeks. It's one of the easiest languages to learn.

I took a couple courses at LSU about 12 years ago, but duilingo was great when I was trying to relearn/become more fluent.
It is a fun language and will benefit you if you ever spend time in Central Europe.

I'm learning Italian currently via DuoLingo. Very cool app but it tricks you with the upsells of course. I recommend.

Deutschland Uber Alles, Mein Fuhrer. Sieg Heil!
I learned all of my German by watching countless World War II movies. I couldn't hold a normal conversation in German with a civilian, but I could lead a Wehrmacht platoon to their demise.

I was literally thinking about it 10 seconds before I typed out tigerdroppings.com and saw this thread.
That's gotta be a sign.
Some of my ancestors were Austrian and Germans that came to Texas to be cattle ranchers so yes, I have always wanted to learn.
