Any other Business owners closing this afternoon/tomorrow?

I know its only a tropical storm, but anyone made the decision to close shop for this afternoon/tomorrow?
I'm on the fence since I have employees who drive in from the river parish areas and Houma.

Not successful ones that enjoy profits.

If you do, you might as well close for the rest of the week.

What is more profitable? Staying open with overhead and staff salaries with no customers? Or closing to prevent overhead?

My FIL just called and asked if I needed him to go pick up some stuff around my house today? I asked him for what and he said "the storm". I work 10 min from my house and can pick up whatever when I get off. Should I be worried about this storm?

Unless you run a water park or a golf course, you will have customers...its just supposed to be heavy rain.

It's gonna be like any other sorta/not sorta formed cyclone storm that we get every few years.
Lots of rain, a few big burst of strong wind and that's about it.
There will be lots of videos of people's wooden fences falling down, patio umbrellas flying, and trampolines flipping over.
Other than that, everyone needs to relax.

This will be no worse than the several days of rain we had a week or so ago.

My dad said he's only closing if the parish government is closing and as far as I know they aren't. His employees aren't happy

No. Not even considering

I would be annoyed if we closed for this little storm.

People are having PTSD from last August, this storm won't amount to anything. Businesses that close will regret it.

I do construction and they haven't even hinted at shutting down

I wish we could close. All you sick people go home. Lol

My company's safety guy is making preparations but I highly doubt anything comes from this.
If I get told to go home, I will be expected to work from there if I have power / internet.
This won't be last year's flood. Not even close. I do understand if people are concerned however.

Just had a guy walk into a meeting at our office in The Woodlands, TX and say he had to leave early so he could prepare for the "storm in the gulf"
I was this close to calling him out, but I tempered my jab at him back to, "you mean the rain storm in the Gulf?" He gave me a death glare, but he knows he's full of shite and using it as an excuse to skip out on work for the next 2 days
