Their case:
-13-1, NFL champs
-29-10 per-game point differential, first in scoring, first in scoring defense
-tough SOS
-top 4 offense, top 2 defense
-+22 TO margin
-best pass defense: no. 1 against pass yards, no. 1 against pass TDs, no. 1 in acquiring INTs
-best rush offense in football
-lopsided team-opponent ratios: 415-148 PF/PA, 4791-3277 total yards, 13-31 INTs, 36-4 rush TDS(my God)
-one game against the Eagles, the Packers gained 628 yards while allowing only 54 and 3 first downs in a 49-0 rout
-Packer defense shut out teams 3x
-Vince Lombardi, Bart Starr, Paul Hornung, Jim Taylor(league MVP and rushing champ), Boyd Dowler, Max McGee, Forrest Gregg, Jerry Kramer, Jim Ringo, Willie Davis, Henry Jordan, Ray Nitschke, Herb Adderley, Willie Wood, etc. 11 HOFers

No team, with exception of the 1991 Redskins(my declared GOAT NFL team) and the 1989 49ers, ever dominated opponents as thoroughly as the 1962 Packers. It was an absurdity how they would maul teams with that smash mouth(the offense's label), ground and pound offense.

Bet '95 Nebraska takes 2 out of 3 from them.

That's all we need to know since tough SOS is all that matters.

Which Aztec Ullimaliztli team do you think was the greatest?
I think the 1490 team would dominate but a lot of people really think the 1509 one could have given them a run for their money.

The most important aspect of a good thread is that anyone would actually give a shite. You are internetting wrong.

I find it an interesting topic, i like that he brings data to back up his arguement, too bad he views his opinion and the SOS ranking as some kind of mathematical truism and dismisses any counter argument as wrong or a "hypothetical".
The 60's is not very interesting it's before everyone's time and pre Super Bowl. So pick a Packers team, a Celtics team and a UCLA team

Can't wait to find out who the best team in the AFC East was in the 1970's

That's just my methodology, when the element of difficulty increases, I then consider their MOV and W-L record and compare them to another championship team with a gaudy record and make a comparison that way. When a team dominates a difficult SOS with a 16-19 MOV compared to another team with a weaker schedule but relatively same MOV, I consider all those elements to make a determination. I strive to look at all the factors before arguing a team the best, whether all-time or from a decade.

2017 Warriors better

It's an opinion...... a tough SOS from 1962????

They also lost to a somewhat decent Lions team 26-14 on thanksgiving day giving up like 9 sacks.... they were mauled that game... and sorry Charlie the NFL was just not very good that year.... I would put that 1st SB team in 1966 over the 1962 team.....
