I know the story and the guilty verdict is STILL bullshite

The story isn't nearly as tragic if you read all the texts in pinky and brain voices. It's darkly hilarious.

While this is factually correct. Dude researched his death, attempted suicide several times, each time panicking and changing his mind during the process. While the chicks actions are vile, and reprehensible, he was going to kill himself regardless at some point. She just pushed him over the last time he changed his mind. That's what got her convicted. Had she not said that stuff, and he just killed himself, she walks. And likely wouldn't have been charged. This guy was deeply deeply disturbed and conflicted. He needed serious psychological help. I am not even sure that would have helped him live.

I don't absolve him of blame, but he swung open the door that could have saved him and she slammed it back in his face. What she did was absolutely sadistic all so she could get the attention of being the girl whose boyfriend committed suicide.
This is why she got convicted.

How does that logically even make sense? She's a horrible person, but it's terrifying how quickly our society is just accepting suicide is not on the individual performing the act. Again, he put solid work on researching things, didn't have a gun to his head, and set it up killing himself.
I said ALMOST worse. And nobody is relieving the guy from blame. Yeah he did it to himself.
But there is some sinister and twisted shite in that girl to put that much effort into convincing someone to kill themself. Even when he was trying to back out of it.

Yea... an involuntary manslaughter for her role in it is absolutely warranted. You know of the story, you obviously did not read any deeper than the basics.

Moving? Why we're already here.

Good. Lock her butt up. Truly evil thing to do, manipulating someone vulnerable like that.

Dunno if anyone mentioned it but she immediately went on social media to seek sympathy and attention when he was found dead. Pretending that she was shocked.
Which is sad to say is motive.

She also sent some post mortum texts trying to cover her tracks. There were some really egregious facts here that made it difficult for the prosecutor to ignore.

This story is just awful. I haven't read all the messages but the kid was obviously crying out for help or he would have just not told anyone.

Glad she was convicted. This went well beyond her telling to kill himself.

She's also guilty of looking like big foot took a crap on her eyebrows.

You have no way of knowing this. Lots of people go through this battle every day, and they need help. Some eventually get help. Those are the ones who tell a friend or family member about their plans.
Speaking from the bench, Moniz said he concluded Carter was guilty of involuntary manslaughter, in part, for ordering Roy back into the truck in what she knew was a toxic environment where it would take him 15 minutes to die — and failed to notify anyone as required under Massachusetts law.
Just because a law is deemed necessary and is passed on by a group of lawmakers does not make it constitutional. There are thousands upon thousands of state and local laws on the books that will not withstand the most basic court challenge.

I think this is a case where she went a little above and beyond just standing by and doing nothing.
I don't care if she's physically there egging him on when he did it. While it is extremely messed up that she did that, the fact that she was convicted of Manslaughter is a fricking joke.
This is an 18 year old guy for Christ sake. No matter what outside influences led to his decision, he made that choice himself and committed the act himself.
I don't care about this ruling for her sake because she is an evil Bitch and deserves no sympathy. I am far more concerned about what this means going forward for future trials. If this doesn't get overturned on appeal it sets a precedent and that is scary as hell.
We as a country need to start separating our FEELINGS from actual application of the law. Just because something is morally wrong doesn't mean that some Judge should be able to make any damn ruling they want.
We have laws for a reason. That reason is that emotions are a horrible way to determine someones legal fate. Rulings in a court of law should be based on the law on the books. If the Law is bad change it.

That'll teach her. Ridiculous east coast lame arse coddling state. She showed no remorse whatsoever other than getting caught if they found her text messages. I predict her name will be in the media again in the near future.
