I realize this thread is about the 2018 class, but next year’s top, in state, prospect is Mylik Wilson. Wilson is a SG and is ranked as the 13th best SG, in the 19 class, by 247. Here is a little article that I ran across:
“The Top247 for the basketball recruiting class of 2019 has been updated with a new No. 1 prospect, James Wiseman. To help introduce fans to a few of the premier players in this class, we're assigning superlatives to guys with unique skillsets. For the full rankings, click here.
Deadeye: Mylik Wilson
Mylik Wilson is one of the best shooters in the country. The Louisiana native is a solid athlete, but it is his catch-and-shoot ability that makes him as a prospect. He has hit as many as 11 threes in one game seen by 247Sports, and has a quick release that allows him to get off his shot against almost any defender. Wilson can shoot off the dribble as well as the catch and is someone who should put up gaudy shooting numbers at the next level.
Recruiting: Wilson has upper mid-major offers with the local high-majors also taking a close look.”
I know Coach Wade was at Rayville right before Christmas to watch a game. Hopefully this upward trend that Coach Wade has us in will continue for a long time.

He’s a bit undersized for a SG if he is only 6’1 150. There isn’t any no brained instate guys next year, so it will be interesting to see who ends up in this class

A guy I hope we get on next year: Niven Glover. He’s Emmitt Williams teammate and possibly the most athletic player in the entire class. Every highlight I’ve seen of oak ridge he has stood out just as much as Williams.

I agree.
When I was watching highlights of Williams I had to go back to see who that other player was and what class he is in.
Yes
Glover is a player.

LINK I’m honeslty not sure what kind of shooter he is or how well he handles the ball or defends but the potential is there with the athleticism and frame. Looks like the type of guy that can be 6’5 200+ pounds and still jump out the gym

Yuat Alok committed to TCU. Said it was between them and Baylor. Leads me to believe Wade stopped recruiting him. He was on commit watch back in December.
He was supposed to visit but we cancelled because of Williams coming back into fold. I think we were still recruiting him, but a backburner option if a spot opened up for him.

2019 is a horrible year in-state, unless some sleepers blow up over the summer.
I could see no Louisiana players getting offers next year.

Only one I think could get an offer is Mylik Wilson. Dudes a scary good shooter.

So if Galen and Kiir leave do we go Juco or push after some other freshmen?

We really need depth behind the possible early entries.
We will definitely lose Reid and Bigby-Williams, so a juco or even a transfer post that sits out next year would be big.
Not a lot of minutes available for next year.
Or sign a big-time wing.

I’d really like a good wing and a transfer big. That kind of sets things up perfect

Agreed. Wing is the only real weak spot for next year. Will certainly be a three guard lineup at this point.
Would’ve liked Alok in this class.

I'd imagine Wade will hold onto this one and see if he can't get a grad transfer at this point or just put it in his pocket for 2019. Not really much out there and those that are don't seem to have interest at this point, something that would be hard to overcome

Alok is a much less skilled version of Duop, dont mind losing him

Very tall white guy sitting behind the bench today. Shirt said “Sarasota “. Word is he is a recruit. Any idea who he is?
Posted on 2/3/18 at 9:54 pm to doya2
Where did you hear he was a recruit from?

He's closer to 6'3-6'3 1/2. During their game between Rayville and Riverside, he was the same height as Jared Butler maybe a bit taller, and Jared is listed at 6'3. He is also an absolutely lock down defender. When Mylik was guarding Butler, Butler had trouble just getting the ball past half court.
