Longest home run I have ever seen hit in person was by this guy against NSU at Natchitoches.
They mentioned him last night on the broadcast and I googled him and had forgotten he left LSU after one year and moved on to some other college.
Why did he leave LSU?

LSU refused to continue to pay for bleached hair

i dont know but he was weird. He would bring his skateboard into Sports(Reggies).
I can't answer why he left after a year but it was the least surprising thing ever.

Think that was also skips last year coaching. Probably had some to do with his decision to leave.

Zeph was always drinking with fans in parking lot across from the box after the games. California guy from what I can remember.

Those dudes were animals at the bars back in the day.

I heard a story about the bus arriving back in Baton Rouge after losing the super regional to tulane. I think was his last game. Skip gave a speech to his players and then Smoke spoke about the future with some ultimatums. He said some of you won't be back on this bus next season. Apparently Zeph walked off and never returned.

Zeph was the typical "hippy" though obviously several generations later. He skate boarded all over campus, even in bars as noted & was a bit beyond a free spirit type. Remember him hitting a HR & him "flying" around the bases, arms outstretched like a plane. All the way around the bases. Skip was not a happy camper. Skip got him for his power but was the total opposite of what passed/s as a typical LSU player. He had no future at LSU regardless of the HC was.

That was the first Lsu game i ever went to since it was close and i was 10 years old. I remember NSU's park being super packed

There were a couple of "conversations" between him and team leaders like Theriot and Fontenot that year after behavior just like that the "flight" around the bases. I think Zinsman knew he was a one year Tiger well before the end of that season. He just never fit in.

Some NAIA school in Idaho, I think. Hard to imagine that he'd fit in any better there than he did here though.
Re: Brian Wilson--I think he fit in and got along better with the other players on the team. Hence, he is still and always will be a Tiger.
It's nice to think back to those times. Those teams were really fun to watch.
This team of Tigers, while often frustrating, can be fun to watch as well. Hoping we see that brand of Tiger Ball the rest of the way. Geaux Tigers!

Not sure. Hit tennis courts or close to them at Northwestern.
