I'm sorry; I could have phrased that differently. I meant not everyone in healthcare wants to be a physician. Someone may be more interested in one of the allied heath fields that may incidentally be a doctoring profession.

I was watching Meet The Parents earlier today. This reminds me of that scene where he tells the docs he's a nurse.

What is a doctoring profession.

Like a witch doctor or a Medicine man or a calypso healer

You haven't provided any factual information to support that claim

Just pre-med school prerequisite disparities

You're biased and talking out your arse

Go to bed. Your patients need you to be well rested

Attention Captain Douchenozzle, the term doctor is an academic term. Being a doctor is not a profession, being a physician is a profession.

Not safe? Nothing is safe, BUT having more healthcare options in rural Louisiana is a HELL of a lot safer than having less.

You should want Louisiana to get better. Trying to solve our problems with the institutions that brought us to this point is fantasy. We need new thoughts. Not the tired, stagnant current thinking.

Get on board with Monroe getting this program. Rural Louisiana needs it.

There are not lots of straight A students getting rejected from MD school. There are not even many 4.0 college grads in Med school. U don't know what you're talking about. Getting straight As in premed is like rare as hen's teeth

Pre-Med curriculum really isn't that hard at all to get a very high GPA in. Pre-pharmacy students do it all the time. I did it at LSU and had no interest in becoming a physician when I applied to ULM.

I have great admiration for the work physicians do. It is a great achievement, but an MD is not every capable person's Mount Everest.

You are an arrogant douchebag and I feel sorry for your co-workers.

I'm sorry, but a doctor is someone that earns a doctorate degree, i.e "Doctor of Dental Surgery", "Doctor of Veternairy Medicine", "Doctor of Physical Therapy", or "Doctor of Medicine". Someone gets to "call" themselves Dr. ONLY after that degree & title was awarded. All earned after hard work, dedication, passion, extraordinarily lengthy training and long hours, etc...

I'm not arguing against your main point, but will this lead to an increase in rural access to healthcare? I've heard that from Nurses and Psychologists, but I haven't seen it.

Duck Dynasty disagrees. And so do I.

The trade area serviced by Monroe is so rural and poverty stricken, you've got your head in the sand to think otherwise.
