Did it ever occur to you that someone may not want MD behind their name?

Worshipping false gods is what you're about. Not better healthcare options for rural Louisiana.
You need to get a grip but I get the distinct impression you're a lobbyist for the embedded MD network.

Louisiana needs all the healthcare help it can get. Don't matter the specialty you are in.

I appreciate some of your earlier points, but, that's ridiculous. Everyone looking to be a physician would prefer MD to DO.

I agree LZ
Louisiana needs this and Monroe is a great place for it to be.

Bullfrog, you and Cleopatra doing work in this thread. It's quite refreshing to see.

When I started, the average GPA to get accepted was a 3.6, no interview under 3.2. ULM will probably be very selective for a new DO program.
I have noticed GPA is NOT the most important factor in the passion and quality of the graduate in medical professionals I know.
OP seems to think that anyone who doesn't want to be a physician couldn't make the grade. Lots of straight-A students aren't interested in MD in the current environment but want to provide care in different ways. They are still on your team.

Jake, aren't you a nurse or something?

There are not lots of straight A students getting rejected from MD school. There are not even many 4.0 college grads in Med school.
U don't know what you're talking about.
Getting straight As in premed is like rare as hen's teeth

Sometimes the non straight A students make the best professionals.

I'm sorry; I could have phrased that differently. I meant not everyone in healthcare wants to be a physician. Someone may be more interested in one of the allied heath fields that may incidentally be a doctoring profession.

Cool I was thinking that or a gas passer. Idk.
Posted on 6/3/17 at 10:18 pm to LZ83
What I just said is everyone is a non straight A student. There might be like 1-10 people in a med school class who finished college with a 4.0.
Y'all never went thru any medical education so u don't know what you're talking about
It's like me telling me someone how t bake a cake or practice law

I've been in the medical field 11 years and I have no desire to be a MD, DO, DPM or DDS or any other D

I get pushing against the expansion of the scope of practice for APRNs, ODs, psychologists and PAs, but I don't view DOs similarly. All that I've interacted with have been very knowledgeable. I didn't think there was much of a rift and figured they were generally accepted as equals.

What in Ethiopia is a "doctoring profession". Somehow we entered the age where u just call yourself doctoring for the joy of it regardless of the degree you obtained. It's so disrespectful to physicians and their extraordinarily lengthy training and long hours.
Are there some lawyering professions or dentistrying professions
