Not sure who will drink this stuff if they keep the recipe the same, frat boys?

Saints and Pelicans owner Tom Benson hopes to bring the Dixie Beer brand home to New Orleans and is close to finalizing a deal to buy a majority stake in the company, a spokesman said Friday (June 2).
Dixie Brewing Co. LLC registered with the Louisiana Secretary of State's office on April 27 with Tom and his wife Gayle Benson, Saints president Dennis Lauscha and Dixie owners Joe and Kendra Bruno listed among the officers in the company, records show. The mailing address for the company is Benson Tower next to the Superdome.
The Dixie beer brand is one of a "number of business opportunities" being considered by the Bensons, who are "working through the process" for Dixie Beer, said Saints senior vice president Greg Bensel.
"Whenever an opportunity presents itself, like a Dixie Beer brand, whereby a company like Dixie can be reintroduced into commerce in our market, the Bensons will certainly do their due diligence with the criteria being on how it best will work and be successful in New Orleans and our region," he said.

Next official beer off the Saints? Forgo the sponsorship dollars to make more money on sales. Sling around the superdome, champions square, and local outlets and he'll be in great shape.

Dome won't be close to enough in beer sales alone but yeah I can see him putting Dixie in there.
Dixie DIPA with flour haze FTW!

Wouldn't that be crossing over tier's? A wholesaler can't own a licensed retail account, correct?

Wow. This is completely out of left field.
First beer I ever drank.
Guaranteed it'll end up at Saints/Pelicans games prominently.

Define prominently
They'll put it with the other little craft beers but it's not going to replace bud. Not even sure it can as they pay the NFL as a sponsor

Dome and Quarter with a few nostalgic painted clipboard signs. That will sell more than they do now.

They'll have a Dixie stand and that sort of thing I would bet. Bud will still be the largest option.
I'm curious as to why they even did this deal, and what they plan to do with it.

Did they change the recipe when they moved up north? The original recipe was a favorite of mine in my younger days/ before katrina.

They need to bring back the beerman backpacks.

I saw one in an antiques store in the quarter. It was only $60. I had the cash on me, but my wife and mother had just gotten on me for buying too much stuff. I passed on it.
A couple of months later, the one in the pictures showed up on eBay. Almost certain it was the same one. It went for $800.
