I don't know, but it's a sure bet one of them laid some eggs in your luggage and they'll hatch after you get home.

It's a brown orb weaver. Serious, go look up pictures. It's butt or whatever has the same pattern. Also if it was spinning what you think of as a traditional spider web, it's def an orb weaver. Also stop killing them LOL

I found lots of spider pics with the same markings on the abdomen. You're probably right though. I'm going to show my pics to the park ranger tomorrow and see if they know.

The pic in my mind of you with a rolled up magazine smashing spiders in vacation wear is totally hot. (There is a misplaced modifier in there but I'm too tired to fix)

I don't have any magazines. I sprayed a couple with Off and then lit on them on fire. That was fun, but I had to quit before my drunk arse started a fire. Smashing them is futile, there are just too many.

They are only outside and only at night. Believe me, I've checked everywhere.
Last person who said that had to go to a doctor to have a couple of egg sacks removed from his ears.
I'd wrap my pillow really tight around my head while sleeping if I were you.

Sounds like a job for John Goodman.

I don't know what it is.I've always called them "Night Spiders".They come out at night and build huge webs.
I've walked into one's web while taking the garbage out one night.Freaked out.Had web all over my face.Spider on my head.
That's a fat one.

I've confirmed with a park ranger that it is definitely a "furrow orb weaver."
Furrow Orb Weaver
They are totally harmless. Even if one bit us it wouldn't hurt. It was freaky but didn't mess up the vacay. We went there to enjoy the wildlife.
