This is a state park. They are not going to refund me for spiders that live outside.

I called the ranger yesterday and asked about them, and she said they are probably not dangerous and to be thankful they are out there eating the mosquitoes for us.

Unless it has the spiked egg sacks and the violin marking on its abdomen, it's likely a common house spider.

Definitely NOT a Brown Widow. I get lots of BWs around my house.

She seems to be giving you the cold shoulder...I am a little older and maybe have a different way of getting there.

OKB, it's me, your e-pal from way back, LCA. You remember from when the creeps were bugging you and I was very helpful? Good.

Are you sure that's even a cobweb spider? Looks like a brown orb weaver...we have a few around the house this year.

The amounts of money are not enough for it to be serious.

But some of us are pleased with your eagerness. Just keep track.

Doesn't matter what kind it is, as long as it's big. In that case....

That's a Tanned White Hispanic Widow. She will not bite. She will snuggle a little bit.

I killed a few to get a better look at the abdomen but they were too smooshed to see any better, plus I got freaked out and ran back inside screaming.

However, I just shined my flashlight at them from behind the window and was able to see that the abdomen has no marks. It is definitely NOT a brown widow.

It's just a cobweb spider or orbweaver. It's actually kinda neat watching them through the window spin their webs and catch bugs.
