I wanted the contest. It was a huge gap to leave in the story of Diana's origin. I get it that for running time purposes it might have been hard, but it is simply a five to ten minute scene right after Hippolyta catches them at the dock. I really think that Diana earning the right to represent Themyscira in Man's World is important, as is the presentation of her lasso, weapons, and armour at the ceremony.

I'm not familiar with Diana's origin story but this sounds awesome. Can you elaborate? I did think it was kind of weird how she just stole all the stuff and got the armor.

While terrific, I wanted too see her interact more with the other crew they put together. Can't wait for justice league.

I also thought the training scenes were cool. Could've spent more time on Themyscira and it wouldn't have bothered me at all. Place looked awesome

I wanted Steve Trevor to stay on themiscyra longer. I mean he was the only man. He could have got it on.

In the original origin story, an emissary would be chosen to return Steve Trevor to man's world to represent the Amazons. That Amazon would would be chosen by trials of combat, a tournament. Competition, Victory, and Glory were high ideals in the Hellenistic World. Diana's mother, Queen Hippolyta, forbade Diana to compete so she had to disguise herself or compete anonymously, depending on the version. She would not be deterred from her destiny. I think the best version of her origin story was done by George Perez in 1987's Gods and Mortals. It's the first time Wonder Woman ever became a real character to me, instead of an icon. There have been a few other versions on TV and animation. Funnily enough, The Wonder Woman TV show did it the best so far. Here are some links to some clips.

Whenever Diana just mindlessly said we need to go to Germany because that's where Aries would be, I thought "why could she say for certainty that Aries was on the Germans side?

The whole thing was fricking ridiculous. Geez, you guys.

The last thing I watched in this ridiculous, badly written monstrosity was American pilot Steve Trevor, somehow seconded to British intelligence - already far-fetched - saying that he had uncovered a Turkish scientist who had developed devastating new weapons that could cost the lives of millions.

So he and Diana leave on a boat and she asks him about the war. "Well, it is pretty bad on the Western Front," he says. So off they go.

That is bad writing. It plays the audience for fools. Right? Trevor develops this huge threat that could win the war for the Central Powers.

So they immediately leave.

If you like being treated like a fool, or worse, you can't even tell that you are treated liker a fool, that is your problem, not mine. I am delighted - you just can't imagine - how delighted I am for you if you liked this movie. I am somewhat more discerning and the story has to make sense and be an artistic creation, not just a jumble of words thrown together.

If you can be happy with a movie where pretty people and special effects are the main draw, that is awesome. You are so blessed.

Just got out of the movie... It's better than anything DC has ever done... By a mile...

Gadot I'd perfectly cast and Ares was a great, great villain. Half of the movie get like a female Captain America, which is OK with me.

The lady who directed this should be directing Justice League and not Snyder... It's better than anything he has done in a decade.

My one complaint is that the final act seems to drag on a bit too long, and, yes, some of the logistics and story doesn't make sense, but it doesn't matter, it did what it was supposed to do.

The score also helped immensely. I thought it was fantastic... And oh by the way... Gal Gadot is a mother fricking goddess. The camera loves this woman.

The story comes first. Gal Godot is easy on the eyes, but stupid words are put in her character's mouth.

That is not nitpicking.

You didn't see the movie for fricks sake. For all your talk about context, you missed the character development and deeper meaning in the movie. that's on you for failing to recognize that and you want to blame the movie for your failures

This is an awesome book. It has some of the legendary material; the Amazons besiege Athens.

I saw enough of the movie to know that the whole thing was ridiculous and badly written.

No you didn't. You didn't see the full product and therefore didn't see the actual product. You know shite about art despite how you like to talk about it.

What the frick are you talking about? This is like bitching about "Coming to America" and comparing it to "The Godfather" just because they're both about immigrants in New York. They're completely unrelated.

He created an entire thread about shitting on this movie and he can't even keep it contained there...has to shite all over it here too. The film has its faults, but he is triggered. He threatened to walk out it in another thread before he even saw it, and he fulfilled his own prophecy. He is after attention, as he has always been. We're looking at you now Whiskey Papa. You're a very pretty girl and very special.
