Move the rebel scum! Let's honor those who fought for the United States. Not against it. The rest belong in a museum for losers.

The South will not rise again, apparently.

BR should just loan New Orleans those freaky silver and brown statues out around the Kidd.

We could say that most wars are fought for the wrong reasons. Should we tear down the Vietnam monuments as well?

Affirming the consequent, converse fallacy. Fighting for the wrong reasons does not equate to fighting against the United States.

meh, this bill was a walking corpse.

I think Mitch was stupid and ham-fisted in how he dealt with this. But this was a dumb bill.

For the same reason they stockpile ammo and believe that Jesus is going to come floating out of the sky again one day. Ignorance.

Technically, they just seceded to do their own thing. The Union attacked them for it even though everything was done correctly to exit.

The Senate and Governmental Affairs Committee voted 4-2 to scrap the House-backed bill from Rep. Thomas Carmody, a Shreveport Republican, and a second proposal by Sen. Beth Mizell, a Franklinton Republican.

This was widely expected.

The Senate President John Alario put the bill in that committee to kill it and keep it from getting to the full senate floor where it had a great chancing of getting passed. It's committee that's majority democrat and and it was the wrong committee to put in as it should've gone to the arts and preservation committee.

Alario being the corrupt power hungry sycophant he is wants to protect the democrat Governor from having to make a tough veto. He truly is a thug piece of shite. frick him.

A loser complex of some sort. Baltimore is the next up for Confederate Statues to come down( about 4)

1)Maryland did not secede from the Union
2) 70,000 Maryland citizens fought for the Union & less than 25k for the Confederacy

Yet there are 4 Confederate Statues/ monuments in Baltimore & 1 Union.

Losers feeling guilt over treason/ losing & need some validation.

Well the Bama gov just signed a bill protecting their monuments. Louisiana politicians are mostly democrat socialist's, hell even a blind man can see that they have infiltrated the Republican party. That is soon to end and New Orleans can whollow in their filth

I did a political focus group a few months back and was grouped with mostly republicans. At the end the question was posed, "who in la state government do you trust and is an honorable politician?"
Some old geezer answered, John Alario, I turned and looked at him as if he had lobsters crawling from his ears.
It took everything in my power not to shout the guy down and ask if he was a fricking moron.

The northern states of the condederacy did not withdraw till Lincoln called for each state to raise 50000 men each for the illegal invasion of a sovereign nation, so see your all about slavery mantra is ridiculous. As far as the slavery part every slave imported to this country was through a US port, most of the time under a US flag.how can you defend the US goverment for this atrocity?

Maryland was held hostage by Lincoln at the end of the bayonet. Do some reading about what Lincoln did the the state government/politicians and it's citizens to hold onto Maryland.
