There will be no no U of Miami in the tourney for the first time since 1971. The Canes this season went 31-27 overall and 16-13 in ACC play. That's a respectable in-conference mark considering the strength of the ACC, but the middling out-of-conference body of work proved to be their undoing.

So the mid-week games matter if you don't go on an incredible run and win your conference regular season and tournament?

And if so many unexpected teams win conference championships. I think sometimes good teams throw their championship games to get two teams from their conference in especially if there is money to be shared. What do you think?

Houston played there way into a host site yesterday.

LSU probably played themselves from 6 or 7 to 4.

Midweek games are important to find out who you can rely on in the bigger games. It's to get them prepped and know who you can depend on. Midweek games is valuable in that sense.

Greetings from the 2016 National Champs boys! Sadly we played like garbage, had a ridiculous amount of injuries (we had our closer batting and a starter pinch running) and lost some close games (UNC, Clemson) that could have gotten us in the tourney to sweep you guys again and light up Mr. Lange (5ip, 7h, 6r, 6er)....

BS aside, I'll be cheering for you guys. Fans are classy, love Alex Box, and Lange is just flat out nasty.
