The country’s rapidly growing Muslim demographic presents an “opportunity” for “Christians, and all who live in Germany”, Schäuble stated, adding: “We can learn from them.
“Many human values are very strongly realised in Islam. Think of hospitality, and other things like, what is there… And also tolerance, I believe, for example.”

Christians could learn tolerance by reading the New Testament and actually following Jesus' message

No thanks. Christians should spend more time learning what it means to be a Christian from the Bible rather than trying to mimic behaviors of those hostile to our faith.

In your mind, what would this entail?

Please don't take single lines of the Bible, twist them to fit your narrative.

for starters:
"Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Exactly. Which is what makes the point rather odd. What about Islam uniquely encaptures hospitality or tolerance that Christians might want to turn to it to help them learn better?

This is unintentionally hilarious (minus the whole context of western civilization on the precipice)

Ignoring your literal neighbors and local communities to instead invent neighbors from every corner of the globe that have nothing but contempt for you and who will never accept Christ in any meaningful way to come destroy your civilization.

I have already learned from them...
1st) I now know it is not safe to be in large crowds
2nd) If I'm in a large crowd and I see one of those goat frickers I leave the crowd as quickly as possible to minimize the chance of myself or family being blown up.

On the contrary I think Muslims could learn much more from Christians. They might start with The Golden Rule. The German Finance Minister, Merkel and all the other European Union liberal progressives are desperately trying to rationalize a failed immigration policy that will eventually transform Europe into Muslim states.

In the original Greek text, the word we translate as 'enemy' is more accurately described as a 'personal enemy', ie someone within your community/family whom you are at odds with. There is a Greek word for 'hostile/public enemies' that is not used in the text, but due to a lack of distinction within the English language, it is easy to read it that way.
