The vast majority of meat pies you will find in the BR area are frozen product from a wholesaler. BErgeron's and on down the line. That doesn't make em bad, it's just what they are.

Bergeron's makes their own unless something has changed. I had to wait on some to be put together when I was buying a dozen. They weren't frozen.

They don't anymore or at least the employees don't know it if they do. I asked about 8 months ago when I was in there grabbing some of their giant smoked wings. Girl said nope they don't make em, they get frozen outside product. When did you go by there. I might have to try em again if its been recently.

It hasn't been recently. Probably about a year ago that I bought the meat pies, maybe more. In fact, the last time I bought meat pies there was before they moved the store to the side where the restaurant used to be. The last times I've been there I didn't need meat pies because I had a supply of Lasyone's on the freezer.
Those smoked wings....I don't leave there without them.

Looks like I have an excuse to cross the river now. Need to ck the meat pie mystery out and get some of those wings and chicken patti's.

Though I haven't bought them in a good while, I'm disappointed that they may no longer be made in house. The wings are enough to make the trip!

Shell station on Perkins btwn Bluebonnet and Siegen.
If you get lucky and find their spinach pies in phyllo dough, those are pretty good too.

They have fried chicken, gyros, shwarma.. Pretty good and quick, if you're on the go.

There's a gas station on the corner of S Foster and North Blvd that has a delicious spicy meat pie. Their boudin balls are good too!

MAde a trip by there today. Got 6 wings and asked the girl if they made the meat pies in house. She said no we never have and then added but I have only worked here for a little over a year. She went and got some kid who appeared to be in his 20's and he said they used to but haven't since the build out and now serve the frozen natch. pies.

They're probably the ones sold in most grocery stores and many restaurants.
