Yea... then everyone from here to Houston will know that you can get away with using a fake id at the casino and only get a warning! It's not just Fournette the casino has to worry about!
Finally someone who gets it.
A basic flowchart for the idiots that don't:
--Casinos make money. Lots of it.
--Casinos would like to continue making money.
--Casinos get in big trouble when they don't follow rules.
--Casinos are followed very closely by the state police.
--When some jackass underage person (not Lanard specificially, but any one) tries to break the rules, the casino must show that person and persons everywhere that they don't frick around with the rules and that there WILL be consequences.
--Casinos then can continue to make more money from lawful consumers.
These arrests probably happen more than you would think; the only reason it hit the papers was because it was an LSU athlete.
Hopefully Lanard learned a lesson and hopefully the public knows that casinos can't afford to "just give warnings" to underage gamblers.

What, bruh?? Actually, no, I don't see the way they're going through $$. Care to explain how him and his family are going through LF's $$...I'd love to hear what you think is going on lol.

Right, this does not show how fast they are going through LF's money.
The earlier poster who said suspend Lanard for the first half of BYU is on the right track.

I bet he's sorry he tried to roll the dice.

What I meant by no big deal is that it doesn't put the general population at risk. Did he break the law? Yes. Did he deserve to booked into parish prison? No!!! Give him a misdemeanor summons, make sure he leaves the area, and get back to protecting the general public.
Is this a case of not wanting to look like LSU players are getting special treatment, so they actually get treated worse than the average citizen?
No charges or bond amount is listed online.

The casino is not going to risk a fine over this. They are required to report this incident.
A minor incident for Fournette that requires minor punishment. But it's not minor to the casino and the state police who enforces gambling laws.

You're kidding yourself in this day of social media coupled with random happenstance that he would not be recognized in a very Public venue.
Without cheating, name all of these players.

Yeah, I'm sure these old white men who think LaF should be given a "warning" will be screaming for leniency for any random black young man caught in underage gambling. Lol

Any "random black young man" caught in a public business underage that is not causing a disturbance should be issued a summons, observed as they leave that business, then the police officer should go on to the next call. Same for any "random white young man" and all other races and genders. If that person is causing problems or returns after being asked to leave, then further actions might be warranted.

It's a casino, not the chimes

I can't say anything because I may or may not have done that at some point... allegedly.

What's the difference? Besides the fact that it is legal for someone that is 20 to enter the chimes, if the chimes catches you drinking, then you will be asked to leave, and cops probably won't be called. Either way, you are breaking a law that is based on an arbitrary age, where some adults can do something legally, while other adults are not.
Should we be spending prison resources for these types of crimes? How much time does a police officer spend booking someone into prison vs issuing a ticket and going on to the next call?

If you owned the casino, you would just ask an underage kid to leave after he has been gambling and about to leave the grounds with your money?
You wouldn't call the cops?
You wouldn't call the cops?

You are completely missing my point. Should he have been booked into parish prison for this?
ETA: If you owned the casino, would you give the underage kid his money back if he lost $50?

Imo yes. You're breaking a number of laws doing what he did. A line has to be drawn somewhere.
Let's look at it from the casinos point of view. Underage guy is at the craps table having a drink and playing and goes to cash in and you catch him. You call security and have him escorted off the premises.
Two days later some cops show up at your office. The kid you let go killed someone on his way home. The cop goes so you let an underage kid in your establishment, you served him alcohol, you caught him trying to cash out, and you didn't think to call us. Before you answer maybe you would like to get your team of lawyers on the phone because you broke at least 4 laws and possibly more
You gotta know as a 20 year old that sneaking into a bar is one thing but a casino is in a whole different ballpark

You are still missing my point!!! I have no problem with the cops being called. I have no problem with him being issued a summons. I have a problem with the cops booking him into prison.
Not sure if the video tape has been released, but is there any proof that he was drinking at the craps table? Was he intoxicated?
IMO, being booked into prison should be reserved for offenses that put the general public in eminent danger. If you get pulled over for going 70 in a 60, you get a ticket and go on with your business. If you get pulled over for going 110 in a 60, you're getting arrested.
