An Example Of A Modern Day History Professor

Andrew McKevitt is a history professor at LA Tech, my girlfriend told me about him after talking about the petition going around for the KA house at Tech to end Old South altogether. This is his incredibly liberal twitter and his bio on Tech's website.

Those are a few.
I wonder how much actual history is being taught in his classes compared to how much he tries to spin it to make America look bad? Especially anybody that is a part of the right wing?

Drew McKevitt joined the Department of History in 2012. He received the Ph.D. from Temple University in 2009. Before arriving at Louisiana Tech he served as the Hollybush Fellow in Cold War History at Rowan University and as a visiting assistant professor of history at Philadelphia University. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the history of U.S. foreign relations, the postwar United States, modern Russia, and modern Japan.
Dr. McKevitt's research focuses on U.S. cultural relations in the postwar era. His current book manuscript, Consuming Japan: Popular Culture and the Globalizing of America, under contract with the University of North Carolina Press, is a history of U.S.-Japan relations in the 1970s and 1980s told through the lens of consumerism in the United States. He was the recipient of the 2011 Stuart L. Bernath Scholarly Article Prize, which was awarded by the Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations for the year's best article in the field. The article, "'You Are Not Alone!' Anime and the Globalizing of America," published in the journal Diplomatic History, examines the local, national, and transnational cultural networks created by fans of Japanese animation in the 1970s and 1980s.

My take on a frat like KA is that we're all better off when the racists clearly identify themselves.

This is a good petition and the comments demonstrate why North Louisiana remains culturally and economically stuck in the 19th century.

Probably Poliboard.
That being said, this one is gold.
He did complain multiple times.

Getting paid to espouse his political beliefs to a captive audience. Pretty good gig.

Like bitching about Fox News?
I must've gotten lucky. It seems like my two main history professors were pretty conservative.
I'm sure this is pretty much the norm for academia.

I had two history professors at dear ole State.
A Reagan fan that knew more about the Civil War in Mississippi than any person alive.
and
A young guy working on his doctorate that left of Mao and idolized FDR and Clinton.
I learned a lot from the former. I just tried to get by without showing my views on the latter.

While his topics of interest do not impress me, his resume does.
If your girlfriend does not like his ideas, then she is free to not take his classes. Perhaps she can find some right wing scholars to teach classes she enjoys.

My girlfriend didn't need to take his classes as she wasn't getting a degree in that field.
She was a part of the SGA, and had to send out an email to the entire school about something that didn't really involve him and he posted it on his twitter page and was going on leftist rants about the email. Don't really remember what she said it was about but I asked her to pull up his twitter and wasn't really shocked about the stuff he was posting on there.
Yeah, his resume is great. But I'd rather take notes from somebody I knew wasn't gonna try to shite on America every chance he got.

So, long story short, this pussy is trying to get a book about Sony published.
Big fricking whoop.

The Left controls the Academy. They control popular culture. They control the legacy media and the television networks. They control Hollywood. They control social media. I could go on.
What they do not control is public opinion. So smug blowhards like this can condescend all they want about "racist" white frat boys, but what they can't do is win debates in the arena of ideas. And while asshats like this think they are being persuasive, they just don't realize that they are persuading people against the progressive Nanny State better than any anti- Statist ever could.
BTW, I can see this pointy- headed dickless little frick in my mind, having lived in Japan for two years. The skinny little dweeb on the train reading his manga and fantasizing about the girls and rubbing out to porn obsessively while all the Westerners on the " commerce side" -almost all of them frat guys- banged their way across Japan without apology or regret .
