Replacing Gas Hot Water Tank

Anyone do this recently? Did you buy the tank yourself and then have someone put it in? Any recommendations on where to get the tanks or who can install it in or around BR? Also how much am I looking to spend including the tank? I am looking to get a regular gas water heater installed, not the instant hot water ones.
fixed i think...

Why do you want to heat hot water?

She will guide you through this dramatic experience and suggest a purchase - easy peasy.

$500 for the heater from lowes.
drain old heater, unhook it, hook up new one.
Not hard

Don't forget a Hot Water Heater pan if its installed up in the attic.

Depending on size it will cost you anywhere from $500 to $1200 to replace.
That's heater and parts for a DIY job to having a pro do it.

OT poor brah. Get an on-demand system like us rich OT'ers
It's easier than you think to replace it, just make sure you drain the water first before doing so.
It'll run you around 600 or so plus 2 hrs for your average weekend warrior. Make sure your vent stack is on properly too.
