PETA didn't do this. People just don't go anymore Bc: the animal abuse is now widely known, it's expensive, and there are better things to do

The lack of financial support has much more to do with. All sorts of people trying to blame PETA (a somewhat douchey organization) and liberals also say they haven't been to the circus since they were children, essentially saying they have actually paid their own money to the circus to help it stay afloat.
