Ringling Bros. Circus Prepares for Final Bow of ‘Greatest Show on Earth’
They've been having the Greatest Show on Earth for almost 150 years. Sunday will be their last show ever.
People can thank PETA for being partly responsible.
It irritates the crap out of me how much power and lack of remorse PETA has. They've destroyed a cultural icon and don't give a damn about it.

After nearly 150 years, the show will not go on for the iconic Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, which is performing its final act on Sunday.
Throughout its 146 year history, the massive, traveling circus elated crowds from small towns to big cities across America with its exotic animals, mile-long trains and death-defying feats — but not without courting its fair share of controversy.
As Ringling Bros. prepares to take its final bow before a sold-out crowd at Nassau Coliseum in the suburbs of New York City, circus performers and enthusiasts lamented the shutting down of "The Greatest Show on Earth." Yet animal rights activists who have sparred with Ringling for years said the end could not come soon enough.

For Ashley Byrne, associate director of campaigns for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA),the circus' final show "can't come soon enough."

I don't think I'll get my panties in a wad over this.
Now if they come after muh rodeos then we're gonna throw down.

I'm not a fan of PETA but frick the circus.

There are simply too many other things vying for people's attention these days.

A fried of mine drove 4 hours to watch a show a couple of weeks ago, just because it was something he remembered from his childhood and wanted to see it one more time before it ended.
I haven't been to a circus since I was a child. I hate to see it end.
But liberals are ending everything that is right about our world, so it's not surprising.

I went to the circus about 7-8 yrs ago maybe (smoothie King NOLA). We were bored out of our mind except for the motorcycle in the metal ball bit.
It is kind of sad to see an iconic show come to an end though.

You support animal abuse? That's disgusting.

So I take it there may be a few tigers in need of new homes???

Lul at idiots that turn this into a liberal/conservative talking point. Circus' are notorious for abusing animals. Leave the god damn animals alone -- bring your 5 year old to Disney instead

But notice how the show is sold out in liberal central NYC.

Yeah, because living in captivity with 3 square meals a day is so much worse than constantly being on the verge of starvation, or in a heightened state of panic due to death being around every corner.
If PETA was so worred about treatment they could work to change how the animals were treated. as it stands these animals will still be in captivity, it's not like they are going to be released.
