What's the reasoning for keeping the embargo in place for that long?

There's only two reasons that I can think of:

1) To avoid spoilers getting out there in the media.

or

2) It sucks.

1) To prevent spoilers.
2) Low confidence, keeps you from having weeks of negative press prior to your premiere.
3) To manage the release of the press and social media so that you have one, synchronized push prior to the opening. (The reviews and social media buzz for Wonder Woman will all hit at the same time, say, 2pm EST May 31st. So you'll have a big two day push before the film opens on Friday.)

However you are correct that the embargo doesn't lift until the 31st - two days before the film releases nationwide.

Yeah but we all know they are going to have Thursday shows, it makes me really nervous that the reviews can't be posted till the day before. That shows ZERO confidence.

This one I don't buy...

Most Marvel movies will lift their embargo 1 to 3 weeks out and they are heavy on spoilers. I think the early reports about it and justice league being a mess have some legs to it. We will find out in a couple weeks.

Also I don't know if you guys know this but it's is now canon that Captain America have been a Hydra agent all along.

Thats because Nick Spencer is a shite head who Marvel was fricking stupid to let write Captain America after the crap he pulled with Sam Wilson.

He literally has tired to ruin Steve Rodgers because he's a pissy bitch who doesn't like the way America is now. So he has to try and shite on Marvel's symbol of America.

Marvel can try and back peddle all they want with the Kubik shite but trying to pretend Cap isn't in the Nazi Hydra doesn't make it any less stupid.

Before long Marvel will do what all comic book companies do and hit reset on a stupid idea and pretend it never happened.

Let's not forget that The Flash use to be fat, Superman use to be split into a Red version and a Blue version like some Pokemon game, and the Punisher has both been a demon and a literal monster.

Comics do lots of stupid shite. Hydra Cap is another in a very long list.

*For the record, I have not been anti the SJW push Marvel has done. I loved Jane Foster Thor. I was cool with evil Tony Stark. I was even cool with a black Captain America. But they just gone with any stupid idea if it seems "progressive".*

They're moving the first screenings to a day earlier. Wednesday May 31st Fan Screenings. I haven't seen any listed for Louisiana.

Wow...they have no confidence apparently. The closer we get the more I think we are getting another batman vs superman and suicide squad abortion.

That's because it fits your narrative. Every early response on twitter I've read from people who have actually seen the film has been positive. Does this mean it's going to be good? Nope. But there are no indications it will be bad so far. Keep hoping.

I have no narrative for the DCEU except the one they gave me. I don't hate the DCEU. They didn't kidnap my family, they didn't kill my dog, and no I haven't seen a dime from marvel. After watching the last 3 DCEU movies I just have no faith in them. I love their characters and stories, I love their cartoons and TV shows, I'm going home right now to open a beer and play some injustice 2. I'm sorry to say this but their movies just aren't very good. They are casted well, I'll give them that. The scores are amazing....it's just everything else. The fact that the movie is now going to be shown the same day as the reviews are coming out is not a good sign. I hope it's good, I never root for a movie to fail so I can waste my money, especially on characters I grew up loving and still to this day love. So to assume anything else about me is just asinine on your part.

“Happy – no, RELIEVED – to report that #WonderWoman is truly good. Funny, stirring, kick-arse, romantic. A solid, entertaining superhero film.” – Adam B. Vary, Buzzfeed

“Very pleased to report that #WonderWoman is the best DC movie since THE DARK KNIGHT. I’m already looking forward to seeing it again.” – Silas Lesnick, Coming Soon

“I loved Wonder Woman. First act’s a bit slow, but it’s optimistic, emotional, and ‘gasp’ funny. Best DC movie so far.” – Dave Schilling, Bloody Disgusting

“Wonder Woman is solid. Definitely a step up from the last few DC movies. Its retro war vibe makes it feel like their Captain America.” – Dave Kevlar, Yahoo

“Happy to report ‘Wonder Woman’ is a blast and @GalGadot is fantastic. Her chemistry with Chris Pine is magnetic. Absolutely recommended. Best part of ‘Wonder Woman’ is the film has really funny parts and an optimistic and heroic protagonist. Great step forward for DC Films.” – Steve Weintraub, Collider

“The most wonderful thing about WONDER WOMAN is the wonderful Wonder Woman. Gal IS Wonder Woman. Now then, about WONDER WOMAN.” – Josh L. Dickey, Mashable

“Wonder Woman is the best DCEU film so far. The heart of Gal Gadot’s Diana powers it, and the shift from mythic into WWI story really works. Chris Pine as Steve Trevor is also my favorite Chris Pine performance. #WonderWoman.” – Eric Eisenberg, Cinema Blend

“DC is absolutely on the right track here. Gal Godot is absolutely phenomenal as #WonderWoman. She KILLS it, just surprisingly good. A truly heroic light DCEU desperately needs. Rough parts? Sure. But guys, guys, YOU GUYS! You’ll truly LAUGH. And you’ll walk out, for once, feeling downright inspired by a DC movie.” – Alisha Grauso, Movie Pilot

“Wonder Woman is the DC movie I’ve been waiting for. It’s exciting, inspiring, funny, and has some truly awe-inspiring action scenes. There are certainly some issues, like a mismatched 3rd act, but I’ll discuss that in a longer review. Overall though, Wonder Woman rules.” – Germain Lussier, io9
