Case in point. A DailyBeast article describes being on the phone with a WH official who is in some fashion is ratting on his boss to the MSM.
Then the reporter was 'stunned' to learn of the mood in the WH?
If my employee was on the phone discussing internal business to an outsider, you can damn well be certain that his arse would be dispirited and fearful
That reporter and the ANONYMOUS WH official should be very aware that talking out of school would piss any boss off. And they act like Trump is a terrible human being for doing what any boss would do in that instance
How about stay off the effing phone, and your boss won't be pissed all the time?? If you don't like it find another GD job!
It's as if Mrs. Bean's challenger class is running the govt, and you can't be mean to them because they don't understand what they are doing

“People are keeping their heads down,” another official said, describing the White House comms shop as dispirited and fearful of Trump’s ire.

Well, most of them are college grads so what does that say?

Two of the most intelligent people I know started college and dropped out to start their own businesses. This was over 40 yrs ago.

I live in the South, but the constant insecurity of those of us in the Heartland toward the coastal "elites" is so tired, and worn out.

Stupidity is rampant.
Consolidated education has replaced thought with being a parrot.

So its acceptable to the coastal "elites" to be on the phone talking shite about the boss, and not expect repercussions?
I seriously doubt that

It's all about acquiring position and power by any means possible.
Edit: the only people that can actually drain the swamp are the voters. We have the power to run them all out of town. We will never do it though.

I'm convinced I'm smarter than my electrician but I don't find out later when my house burns down.

Truth! People confuse regurgitation with intelligence...., wrong!!!! Problem solving mixed with creativity is a sign of intelligence. Finding a solution to an unanticipated problem will always be more desirable to employers than rote knowledge.

And while education level cannot be used to gauge an individual's intelligence, there is a clear relationship with intelligence and education level at the group and population level.

Poli sci/journalism degree probably some of the easiest degrees out there. I would reckon those majors are not full of the brightest crayons

My congressman MO (R) Billy Long doesn't have a college degree. He has a certificate to be a auctioneer.

We've seen evidence of that right here on this board.

Rent free, bobbakanoosh.
Of course, you inadvertently raise a good point. One does not necessarily having to live inside the Beltway in order to have an inside the Beltway job.
If you know what I mean, jelly bean.

If you've ever worked with or around beltwayers for any length of time, you will learn two things paramount to your getting ahead.
1) Never challenge anyone above you
2) Do not deviate from the requested task
Relatives that I have known in OSHA and DOI cannot even address a question concerning objectives in their department unless they are specifically assigned to it.
Not 100% this way, but a very high percentile.

If it's your assertion that there are some people in DC who are dumber than the average college grad, then yea, no shite
If it's your assertion is that the average government official in DC is dumber than the average college grad, then I think that you're simply seeing what you want to see. I don't believe that you can find any study to back up that assertion.
