They were good acquisitions I think but it just wasn't in the cards.

There's only so much talent available in the NBA.

Actually they really didn't if you go by more than the eye test.

EG was a little off his career average PER (with the same usage rate) and Anderson had the lowest PER of his career.

The only bright spot for either of them was their health (both missed only 17 games combined) and Ryan Anderson's TS% went up 2% over his career average.

I arrived midway through the second quarter and left at halftime.

i love the searing hot takes that come after every series loss

Spurs/cavs/GSW all do the smell your fart "Hey good series, y'all got a lot of young talent! Could be really good in a few years. i was really scared in game 3."

Everyone else: "BLOW IT Up. They suck and will never win with that roster"

Bashing them for losing to the #2 team in the NBA in the playoffs is retarded.
At one point before garbage time, SAS had Simmons, Anderson, Lee, and Murray on the floor at the same time...HOU lost by 39 points at home.

If that's not deserving of bashing, then what is?

That's really not bad at all for both of them. Space the floor so well for Harden to do what he wants. Obviously they had a bad playoffs, but they're so incredibly effective for that team.

EG was +1.1 On/Off for the season.

Ryno was +6 (credit to him), but he was -5 in these playoffs.

Yall got blown out by 39 by a team who replaced their best player (and top 5 player in the league) with a guy who was in the D league last year. Harden sucked (as usual in elimination games) and intentionally fouled out because he didn't want to play anymore.

Furthermore, most said that D'Antoni's coaching style is great for the regular season, but sucks in the playoffs. I guess we were right and Morey was wrong on that one.

BTW, both Anderson and Gordon's advanced stats were down across the board from their career averages this season. Man, Morey sure told us.
Yeah, it was a bad loss. It happens. San Antonio got waxed in their first game against the Rockets. It happens. Pelicans fans wouldn't know about it though seeing as they haven't even won a playoff game since 2010 and haven't even been to the second round in a decade.

Secondly, D'Antoni's Rockets this year finished 3rd in the playoffs and were 3rd i the regular season. They finished right where they should have.

And yeah, Morey did tell y'all. Y'all were questioning whether the Rockets would even make the playoffs with Gordon, Anderson, and D'Antoni. Even with their career averages, they finished 3rd in the West and were one of the 6 teams left standing in the playoffs.

So yes, Morey was right. Y'all were wrong.

I think they're more upset that EG and Anderson actually played well in Houston.

So in other words, unless you are the GM of the Spurs, Warriors, Cavs and maybe Boston you suck.
Morey put together a team that had the 3rd best record in the league. made if farther than 20+ other teams in the league. Yes, he had to overpay for those 2, but that is what the NBA is doing across the board.
A crappy GM is one whose team did not make the playoffs.

Yeah, that game is worth of bashing. But it's just one game. Like I said, the Spurs got beat down the first game of the series. It happens.

Did you predict HOU was going to win this series?

I was thinking this as well. At the trade deadline, the rockets were already pretty thin at big men. And Ryan Anderson is one of the softest and worst defensive bigs in the league. What does Morey do? He goes out and gets Lou Williams...

The answer is sorta in the middle. He doesn't suck like the OP or whoever said.

But he's not nearly as good as lots of Rockets fans think he is.

He's a solid GM.

Depth? They have Gordon and Lou Williams off the bench. Ideally they'd unload Gordon and another piece for a star player, but no two players on that team are really worth it to a trade partner.

They had no size when Nene went down and got killed by the Spurs. They have scoring but they still need depth inside.

They'll be fine. NBA purgatory sounds fine but name one team who isn't outside of the Warriors. The Cavs could ride Lebron in theory but I don't think they have the horses. The Spurs won't beat The Warriors.

Every team in the NBA outside of the Warriors is fighting for second place.
