I'll give you a hint, Mr. Trump has shined a light on a certain group of these individuals.
***Seems like the AP, who is no fan of TRUMP's stance on illegals, would have pointed out the suspect's legal status in the article to quell any animus towards illegals had this been the case.

I read a similar article this morning and it wasn't mentioned anywhere that he was here illegally. The crimes were freaking crazy though. 9 shootings and several dead

Actually, many news reports are quick to point out the immigration status of those who are illegal because sensationalism sells. AP includes.
