Would suck for him to have to pull the Eddie Jackson detail of hosting the kids BBQ championship

Name the last one who went on to be a star? Not a single one other than Guy Fieri. The rest have all been relegated to being judges after a season or two of dreadful shows. One never got a show, one had one episode, etc. I think it ends up being better not to win.

Instead we get constant social media pushes of govt taco, a restaurant that is still a year form opening.

I personally watch/record Damarias's show and I did watch Aarti when she had her indian show. The rest kinda sucked.

What ever happened to the first winners, the Hearty Boys?
It was so damn funny when one chick contestant had no clue they were gay.

I was bummed that Besh lost Next Iron Chef to Michael Simon but looking back it worked out well. I'm not sure that Besh would have necessarily had the same impact in New Orleans had he won and his time had been more split between New Orleans and New York.

Didn't Sara Moulton win something? I watch her on PBS.
ETA: I'd rather watch a cooking show than a competition show though I do watch some of them.

Jeff Mauro is still on as a co-host of The Kitchen.
No one has even come close to Guy Fieri's level of success.

I'm tired of all the competition shows. Miss some Emeril Live

The cooking shows are all on the cooking channel. Nobody gets the cooking channel

Cooking channel had the best thing to ever grace the screen with a knife in her hand,

I would too. She worked for Julia Child and Gourmet Magazine and Good Morning America.

I enjoy her input on the milk street podcast.

Eddie is known nationally
Jay ducote is barely known outside of Baton Rouge

I think Eddie was in it for the love of competition and cooking. Ducote seemed like he just wanted exposure to hock products in BR.

He just wanted to cook and win and make a living at what he loves. He is a character in our city which sorely lacks fun, positive, present influential people in the arts
