Happy for him, but this is usually how dudes end up broke. Family members expecting hand outs.

Of course, but we all know it doesn't end up working like that.

Your "mom" isnt normally one of those handouts. If there are any family members you take care of, its your rents.
And I didn't think "surprise" meant she asked for it. Ya know, a surprise is normally the opposite. The person DIDN'T ask for it.

Now I can take my #7 official LSU jersey to training camp and get it signed
Guess it'll have to be a cap or something for me. Haven't worn a jersey in years, but...

I am stoked I can get me a new #27 jags jersey now.
I am very seriously considering purchasing one for myself.

Man neither of you have a clue what you're talking about. Gus Bradley is a good guy but a fricking HORRIBLE NFL head coach. That franchise is currently undergoing a very extreme cultural change. Tom Coughlin may not be the head coach but he is absolutely the MAN around there now. And Marrone is cut from the same cloth as Coughlin and has publicly stated his happiness at being able to learn from and be mentored by Coughlin. Together those two are instilling a much higher degree of discipline (not saying behaviorally, rather in general) and mental toughness into the players.
The Jags were actually much closer to a more respectable record last year than people realize. One of their biggest problems was closing games out. Leonard will be expected to change that and I have a feeling he will. And in the process he'll take a lot of pressure off of Bortles. Whether Bortles takes advantage of that or not remains to be seen. If he's still bad then at least LF should be able to greatly reduce the number of passes he has to throw by bringing much more balance to the offense.
And the defense is fricking LOADED.
Clueless you two are.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Hope he plays out his rookie contract and moves to a winning team.

Ive never seen him walk on water, so making the Jags winners is pretty doubtful.

Lol people going broke doing something for the person that sacrificed for their whole life to make sure you had the best possible life. Amazing how some people's brain works.

Hopefully the young man will find an honest agent/financial advisor and will have a savings and investment plan that will serve him for the days after his playing career is over.
It's only natural for him to take care of his family and recognize the rewards for his talents. I remember there was an agent long ago who would only take clients who would agree to work within a sound financial framework. An allowance for living, recreation and amenities; investment portfolio; a trust etc.

I'm 100 percent on board with that.

You guys are dumb. I was responding to the, very family oriented. Of course buy your mother something. I'm talking about the rest of the family. He had several people standing with him when he committed to LSU, you don't think those people want a piece too?

Context, your brain should be able to read the post I responded to. Does yours work?

Its his Mom for Christ sake not Auntie Lisa or cousin Pete
This kid career has been planned out since he was in the 8th grade and surrounded himself with grounded people...pretty sure he is aware of monetary pitfalls and understand the importance of investments and the future
