Any chance Saints Draftboard was leaked?

We know both the Daints wanted both Foster and Riley. Now to hear that Cook was also in play. It may seem coincidental for 1 or 2 guys, but something to have 3 or more guys get picked just before your pick has to raise an eyebrow.
Something to be featured in draftday2 movie lol.

Everybody knows the Saints were hard up for linebackers and were going to draft one.

Yeah if it was obvious to us that the Saints wanted Foster then it was obvious to the 49ers professionals who do this for a living.

Where did you hear that? Random posters on here?
Based on available information, it seems the Vikings moved up to get ahead of the Eagles who themselves tried to trade up at one point to get Cook.

And it all may end up being a blessing in disguise.
the OT pick (if it makes our Oline Elite) may end up being the best possible thing for us with all of our offseason RB acquisitions. This offense looks to be 2011 nasty.
having Williams and Kamara may prove to be better than having just picked up Cook in the 2nd round

May be purely coincidence, but it does seem teams jumped us for players we were considering.
#11 - Considering Mahomes, Chiefs trade to 10 and select him.
#32 - Considering Foster, 49ers trade to 31 and select him.
#42 - Considering Cook (rumor?), Vikings trade to 41 and select him.
#76 - Considering Riley, Falcons trade down to 75 and select him.

This is all conjecture. We don't know shite. The only one that is kind of confirmed is Foster. Everything else is just posters here making assumptions.

Payton said that he would've taken Mahomes at 11 if the Chiefs wouldn't had traded up.

With the Saints draft history, maybe it was a good thing they were forced into their 2nd option sometimes.

As far as conspiracy theories go on these boards, this is probably one of the more feasible of the ones I've seen. I've often wondered with some of the cameras they put in the draft rooms for some of the teams for the "show" (pretty sure I saw Denver and Elway on Thursday night), how hard would it be for someone to bug a room? They could just be listening in on some of the conference phones in the room. It just doesn't seem to me like it would be that difficult.

Actually there are 2 (1 who posts on TD)people who were at Rileys private party confirmed a report that was on the nola site.
Rappaport an nfl insider said the Saints had a plan for the possibility if Cook was available at 42.
Coincidence...

I don't know if our draft board was leaked, but the Saints certainly didn't hide their team needs and interests. Someone needs to explain the concept of "smokescreens" to Mickey Loomis and Payton. I think Mahomes, Foster, and Riley would all be Saints right now if not for other teams anticipating our picks - and maybe Dalvin Cook too. We are just as likely to be better off with the players we got, however.

the MMQB story is a good insight to draft rooms. There was much discussion and disagreement about who they thought other teams would go after. They were 100% sold that Foster couldn't get past Cincy or Baltimore.
In the whole scheme of satisfaction or dissatisfaction with picks I think most fans don't get how imprecise or shitty all the mocks are. There is great variance in ratings from team to team. The final draft is the definition of worth, not what you or anyone else thought or where they placed in mock drafts.
Foster may end up a steal. We also may say we're glad we didn't get him 5 years from now. Most thought Anthony was a good selection at #31. He could have been by mocks and expectations. Three years in we are hoping he can stay just stay on the roster.

quote:Because it would have to be some kind of conspiracy right? It would have to be. No way possible that this didn't just go down like every draft in history where other teams draft players in front of you and sometimes they draft players that you wanted to draft because they possibly liked those players too.
Any chance Saints Draftboard was leaked?
No way that's what happened. Definitely a conspiracy. fricking Goodell. Cocksucker.

Exactly remember Kiper was 100% Trubisky was going to Cleveland then draft day McShay said I don't know anymore im getting missed information but later said he thinks it's Garrett.
Smokescreen had Trubisky going to Buffalo, Bears taking Thomas, Jets taking Fournette, 49ers taking Adams and Jacksonville taking Allen.....How wrong were the reports lol.

No, he didn't. And he definitely didn't say anything about Cook and Reilly.

I hope it was intentionally leaked to keep Sean from drafting this dude at 11.

He said they would've considered him. They "liked him a lot". Pretty much just SP answering a question about Mahomes at a press conference. There is a video
Eagles wanted Cook, hence the Vikings move up
quote:
According to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Eagles tried to trade their second (No. 43) and fourth-round pick (No. 139) in order to move up to select Dalvin Cook with the second-round pick they would have acquired.
At the end of the day the Eagles didn't pull off a potential deal, staying put and selecting Sidney Jones with the 43rd overall pick. The Eagles kept their board to two options headed into Friday's second round, Jones and Cook.

Are you are talking about him mistakenly saying the Saints spent time with him at combine and continued vetting him or did he say something else on air?
