Literally you are wrong, Lee was never charged with treason and never spent a day in jail.
Jefferson Davis was charged with treason, but wasn't convicted.
He successfully argued that when took up arms against the United States, he was no longer a citizen of the United States, therefore no treason.

So much more effective if it's from inside the family.

Even Mary, as much of a count she was, didn't frick up this bad. She may have blackmailed and threatened businesses into voting for her, tried to take away federal funding but she never made it so bad that people were taking out 4 page ads to blast her.
Mitch is a failure and an embarrassment just like the rest of his family

Gettysburg Reunion
Your ignorance of history is breathtaking. It's amazing how these men who actually fought a long, bloody war against one another were able to mend wounds and come together in unity but some wannabe know it all in 2017 just can't fathom how the Confederates could be viewed as anything but treasonous scoundrels.

Alario
There isn't one guy in the statehouse I hate more than Alario. He's a crooked piece of shite that was taught how to wet his beak by Edwin Edwards. frick him.
Only way he's leaving the Statehouse is in a casket as he's been there since the 70s. He just cannot stand getting his old fatass grubby paws in the people's business.
He truly is one of the most disgusting and shameless figures in Louisiana political history.
He truly DGAF about honor, self pride and letting new blood and new ideas take over.

As for Mitch, he came up with this idea before Hillary lost & it was widely known in N.O. that he was pushing for a plum job in D.C. in her administration. That's why he "came up" with this idea.
That definitely was a factor but it was also a revenge tour against conservative white folk in Louisiana for killing his family dynasty.
Sweet karma when Trump won and all of this shite blew up in his face and he's left holding his dick in his hand as one of the most if not the most hated political figure in the state so he has no choice but to double down on this and finish the job.

I don't think people hate Ray Ray as much as they hate Bitch right now.

M Landrieu is a disgrace. Taking a cue from Isis terrorists by tearing down historic markers? Sad.

This has literally be going on since the 2nd amendment. Always this kinda weird fetish with what could happen if blacks are appeased. It's almost as if they know they are wrong but are so scared of a racist potential altenate reality that they rather go all in in doing wrong.
Whatever events have happened to turn you into such a huge pussy, I just want to say, they aren't your fault.
If you don't dig down and find some semblance of manhood, you're gonna put a bullet in your mouth.

Probably why I used Lee and not Beauregard.
I think the statue defenders fricked up trying to save Lee and Liberty Place. Letting them be lumped into an all or nothing.

The US Navy named one of their first nuclear submarines after Robert E. Lee. I highly doubt that they make a habit of naming their vessels after "treasonous bastards."

Lee isn't part of New Orleans history any more than Bolivar is.
As a member of the Army Corps of Engineers before the Civil War, he designed and built the jetties at the mouth of the Mississippi that kept the river flowing in the main channel, preventing it silting up, and keeping it open for navigation. Stabilizing the river enabled New Orleans to develop into the second largest city in the United States before the War, second only to New York City.

That's a fricking stretch.
Certainly not worth erecting a statue to.
Certainly not worth erecting a statue to.

Mitch Landrieu, ANTIFA and paid protestors are the only ones who want these monuments down. There are only a few African Anericans at these protests. The ones that are there are paid leftist protesters.

There's a difference between erecting a statue and maintaining the status quo by allowing a statue to remain. One has a much higher threshold for doing than the other.

Part of Beauregard's greatness was that he was a pioneer in American civil rights. After the war he headed up the ill-fated Unification Movement.
-------'Largely forgotten, though, is that Beauregard also was an early proponent of equal rights in Louisiana, serving as the outspoken leader of the short-lived and ultimately failed unification movement.
The movement was a coalition made up of prominent white and black New Orleanians that called for integrated schools, public places and transportation and voting rights for black men, two years before Congress passed the Civil Rights Act of 1875 and nearly a century before the enactment of major civil rights legislation in the 20th century. Beauregard was the group's chairman.
"I am persuaded that the natural relation between the white and colored people is that of friendship," Beauregard said in an address published in July 1873 in papers including The New Orleans Republican and The Daily Picayune. "I am persuaded that their interests are identical; that their destinies in this state, where the two races are equally divided, are linked together; and that there is no prosperity for Louisiana which must not be the result of their cooperation.'---------

So your think the statue for Lee is there because he built some rock piles at the mouth of the river?

It certainly is a factor in favor of allowing his statute to remain in place.
