ETH is in a serious correction. BTC may well get overtaken one day, but not anytime soon. They're all dropping, but ETH is getting SLAMMED.

In other news - looking at my MEW ERC-20 wallet this morning - noticed I a new token in it that I never heard of or purchesed - 7.77 VIN tokens - Has anyone else noticed this ? What is it and where did it come from? Airdrop?

Well true, I wasn’t being smart arse (I’m not saying you think I am) I was just curious if people who’ve been in this crypto investing for several years have seen this type of drop before. I understand none of us know for sure the future of it though.

Oh, I didn't take it that way. No worries.

I'm not a crypto old-timer, but I'm guessing this is the first time most have seen ETH contract like this given how quickly it rose. I'm thinking people are running from crypto right now given the volatility they're seeing and putting their money in more traditional investments. This is, of course, making the drop worse. What triggered it? No idea. I blame Amazon.

Yea who knows, if it was regular stocks doing this I’d be buying it up. Crypto I’m more nervous about, I did buy a small amount at $620 and even smaller at like $550 though.

No idea, but I put more in at ~570 yesterday and thought I was getting a steal.
I'll double down on my stupidity if it drops to low 400s here today and buy more.

I'm with you. I first bought ETH at $992 and thought I was getting a deal at under $1,000. Joke was on me.

Fortunately, I made some good trades and cashed back out to BTC. When the market picks back up, BTC will be there, too. That much I've figured out. ETH, I've grown very weary of. It's drop right now is concerning, to say the least.

Eth is probably shitting the bed because of ico regulations. That's literally eths primary purpose in life and icos are taking a beating. Eth may never completely recover as this regulatory uncertainty is removing first-mover advantage.

Just used my ETH to buy 95 VEN and 19 ETC.

Got anxious waiting on VEN to fall a bit with the snapshot being on the 20th and all.

I’m trying to get more into this instead of just sitting on coins.

Only really dabbling in VEN, XLM, POE, ETC...

You have to:

1) use coins that you would be comfortable holding for a while
2) Be patient. Which means to put in a sell order after buying and waiting until it hits.
3) Use coins that have a good volume.
While ETH was dropping some alts were dropping even worse, and was able to get ICX and XLM after they both dropped significantly (dd).
And now that ETH is rallying, alts are rallying at a better pace
