t. Anyone know what happened with the other girl involved? She'll probably be held accountable while the judge's daughter skates.
She didn't want a jury b/c juries may base their decisions on emotion. Her legal defense was pretty simple in that there was no evidence the encounter took place in Jefferson Parish. A judge is more likely to rule on the facts as they are allowed in the courtroom.

Rachel Respess was only charged with failure to report the commission of certain felonies.

You think the judge will get it soon?

I'm sure she cut a deal with the judge. Her father is a judge. Emile St. Pierre in St. Charles Parish. Typical Louisiana politics. She knew what she was doing by putting in the judge's hands.

The teen was not in the courtroom when Taylor rendered her verdict. But his mother was on the front row and began weeping after the judge found Dufresne not guilty. She could be heard crying in the hallway as Dufresne wiped tears from her eyes and embrace relatives inside the courtroom.
She's crying because her son's lies cost the State a conviction and her a chance at a 7-figure civil judgment, not because she felt Dufresne should go to jail.

Not sure why everyone is up in arms??? My understating is she plead guilty for having sex in St. Charles Parrish and was now charged with having sex in Jefferson Parrish. And there was no evidence of it happening in Jefferson. So she is still guilty, just not in Jefferson. Is that correct??
Yeah I don't think they understand.

And now she'll write a book and sell the movie rights and buy a house in the Garden District

Though Taylor found Dufresne's conduct in St. Charles Parish reprehensible, she she just did not believe him.
Can you imagine what would happen to a male judge who said he didnt believe a female teen?
