Not sure why fans are giving him a pass. He admitted while most evp's were out exploring areas to improve their team he was out scouting football players. The Williams fiasco showed that he is actually in control and can override Demps as he sees fit.
Now we learn the reason Van Gundy nor Dumars were not called is because they basically don't fit the personality that loomis wants them to have(they will call out bs if they saw it)

There are numerous writeups on the role loomis's dual role. Now that both franchises are struggling maybe its time for the pelicans to get someone who can devote 100% of his time to basketball operations.

While I believe this is true too. This won't change.

Loomis and Dennis Lauscha are basically owners. And this won't change under this ownership.

The Williams fiasco? Monty? How did Loomis override Demps? From everything we know, Monty was let go after losing a power struggle with Demps.

How did you "learn" this?

FWIW, I think they will hire an actual POBO at some point. Hopefully this offseason.

We've been calling him out here for a few years.

If Monty and Demps had found a way to get along I bet they are both still here. But things reportedly got bad between the 2, Loomis was forced to choose and he chose Demps. That wasn't overriding Demps, that was backing Demps up.

I too would like to know where you learned this from. And what do you mean not called? JVG interviewed twice.

Loomis is the proxy for the owner, all owners have veto power. But the problem isn't that Loomis can veto Demps, it's that he's let Demps go unchecked for too long. An actual POBO would have NBA experience, contacts and ideas that would help Demps. If they don't fire Demps I at least want to hear that Ferry is sticking around or even that Dumars is becoming POBO.

Danny Ferry as POBO with Demps as GM wouldn't exactly be starting fresh, but outside of the Hill contract I think most of us don't hate the moves that have been made since Ferry came on board in an official capacity.
