China should remove Kim Jong Un and we should withdraw from South Korea

It seems to me an opportunity. Remove the idiot, dismantle the nukes and then give China what it wants---US withdrawal from South Korea.
With the exception of Tibet the communist in China have not displayed much imperialism and it is my impression they have no desire to rule Korea. They are, however, leery of a US force in South Korea and that is the reason they tolerate the idiot in the North.
We should agree to withdraw from Korea, maintaining our presence for the time being in Okinawa in exchange for China removing the idiot and the nuclear threat of North Korea from the region.
Looks like a win-win to me.

You do realize that there is no peace treaty in regards to the Korean War hostilities...only an Armistice ? Now if li'l Kim was overthrown or removed and many in the high command of the DPRK somehow disappear to outer Mongolia, etc and reunification of Korea was established, then we can talk.
Apparently the North is a really beautiful place scenery wise.

Yes and without the Kim Jong Un family there could be a treaty.

So does this result in unification or is this just China taking over NK?

You would like his stuff, Freeman. He does podcasts and contributes a lot to the Ludwig von Mises Institute. Has a lot of fantastic books, too.

Well, uh, I'm not sure the South Koreans would be too hip about this & I'm 10000% sure we don't want China expanding

I doubt unification and I doubt the Chinese want to run NK. I suspect it would mean a Chinese puppet installed as leader and that would be ok with me.

The South Koreas do not seem to be as concerned with North Korea as we are.

That won't be enough to remove any troops. Possibly a reduction of force but there's no way troops would leave with that deal.

I'm not so sure you're right and tough shite for them if you are. We spilled lots of blood and spent lots of resources and energy guaranteeing their sovereignty. If the threat from the North ends and China agrees to respect their sovereignty then mission accomplished and they are free to be what they claim to want to be, free and sovereign.
They aren't a part of our country and as nice as I'm sure it is to have your defense bolstered for free by the world's superpower, they aren't entitled to it into perpetuity.

Except for Tibet, and the whole history of every communist country in the world.
China should get involved with N. Korea, but we will not go the cowards route and flee from S. Korea.
That's an Obama foreign policy maneuver...cowardly.
