I have never heard one thing about "the gout"

Do you know anyone of Vietnamese descent?
I've never suffered from gaut but, the Viets have some black market stuff, looks like sugar, that's knocks the shite out of gaut.
I have a buddy that's well over 300lbs, gets it in his feet/ankle.
He takes a teaspoon of the stuff and wakes up dancing the next day...

So basically you can't drink alcohol or eat steak for the rest of your life?

Feels like a sledge hammer has been hit on big toe. Pain beyond belief.
Watch the booze, seafood, and steak.

It's just horrible. I have had it a few times. Yes, I'm middle aged and fatter than I should be. Some BP mess cause it so be sure that you are taking one that does not cause Gout.
Do not take aspirin of a similar medicine. I recommend Motrin, double doses to start with. Drink lots of water, no alcohol, no red meat or crawfish in your diet.

I am considering cutting my foot off to ease the pain but it hurts too bad to walk and get a knife.
I was going to say this very thing.
Cherries help a lot but when I got some last time the damn things were $10 a pound or some such.

I am in allopurinol but only for 3 days and I feel worse. I have body aches from head to toe nit sure if it's working

I get it in my ankle joint or bridge of my foot, usually only after a heavy drinking weekend
There's been times where I've had to crawl to the bathroom to piss at night.

Dmy brother had it in the big toe and, once treated, it came back within a month. Other than that no issues...
MIL gets it on the reg but only in the toe next to the big toe and it stays red and puffed up for about a week to 10 days.

Gout really sucks.
I've been on allopurinol for 20+ years...and I ain't getting off it! It works!
I haven't had an attack since I started taking it.
Your doctor will prescribe Colchizine pills or Indomethacin.
Colchizine WILL give you the flying shits and thats a good thing...it helps get the uric(sp.)acid out of your system quickly.
Indomethacin is usually prescribed for those of us who get chronic attacks and wont take the allopurinol!!
Limit fried foods. Livers and gizzards are a no no.

This is the best thing that I have found. You can by Tart Cherry Extract in Capsule form from a lot of places and take at least one a day. At least lay off off the shellfish, and beer if you drink it. I still have the beer but the Cherry pills keep the attacks at bay.

It isn't the steak causing gout. It's the inability to clear out Uric Acid which can form crystals in your joints. I believe that inflammation is the problem. Fructose increases uric acid and decreases its excretion through the urine

You don't have the gout. You are suffering from a brain that is too big for your body. Or, your balls are too big.

Dont ever use this during an attack. This is a drug that you take after an attack is done
Colchicine is what to take during an attack.
Worse pain I've ever been in. I'd rather get kicked in the nuts every hour on the hour than to have a severe case of it again

Gout seems to increase your risk of a heart attack.
I had a flare up and less than a year later I had a heart attack.
From what I read since then, it is the inflamation that is the danger.

Colchicine and high dose NSAIDs (motrin, aleve, indomethacin) is the best treatment at this point.
Hopefully u have good drug coverage because colchicine suddenly got expensive a few years back. The drug used to be dirt cheap and even on Walmart $4 list (for 30 pills) but through some shady/corrupt dealings you can no longer buy the generic in the US, only the brand/trade name Colcrys which is about $6 a pill cash price!
