I'm not blaming the refs, but this egregious miss killed the chance for exciting ending

That's a missed call. He was touching the ball, hand out of bounds. Gonzaga ball, period.
Might not have changed outcome, would have changed ending sequence.

It is impossible to miss unless you did so intentionally. No other way to spin it.
ETA: What could that ref possibly be watching where he missed that hand? He was the one who called the tie-up, so how did he miss the hand right there?

That's an exceptionally egregious missed call.

Glad my team won. But that was the worst officiated game I can remember.

It wouldn't have mattered if karnowski could make a layup. Gonzaga has no one to blame but themselves

UNC benefited from calls all tourney so it doesn't surprise me that the official didn't call that. With that said, Gonzaga had so many chances and just decided they didn't want to win.

It was a terrible game. I can only hope that it was bad enough where actual legit changes will be made going forward.
I wouldn't hate seeing the games structured similarly to what they did in the NIT this year. They also desperately need to clean up loose ball / off ball fouls. Let them play.

Is he grabbing his dick?

Given the rest of the contest, I'm pretty confident that the ending was going to suck either way.

Not relevant.

What about the phantom tip call on the air ball The zags shot? The one that they ended up getting a 3 on?
The refs sucked overall. Get over it

Sad part is it is review able.
Refs wanted UNC to win and they won.
Wanted it all tournament. UNC had help in four of their wins.

No use. Zags are the only ones to get cucked by the refs. Lulz

How is not relevant. Gonzaga had plenty of opportunities to make the winning plays

The one where he slapped his hand for an obvious foul? That "missed" call?

Or that the polish dude travelled every time he touched the ball

It's not relevant because UNC had the same type of chances and missed too. The teams played like garbage, but it doesn't excuse that kind of officiating, particularly on one of the most important possessions of the game.

For sure. If UNC wasnt playing, I probably turn that game off. Hard to watch when refs are that bad.

I don't blame refs for split second calls like that TBH. I did feel like the odd nature they called fouls led to Gonzaga big men being in foul trouble very early, but the pace of the game was set because when Gonzaga was playing it's best their momentum was halted by somewhat obscure foul calls in an inconsistently called game.

It's tough to really explain. Gonzaga is a better overall team than North Carolina, but they couldn't manage to avoid the shite show game that UNC seems to impose every time they take the court. UNC played 4 atrocious games to watch this tournament. That seemed to be their thing. The refs calling everything made it even uglier.
UNC played great defense down the stretch, Berry hit some clutch shots, and Jackson had 3-4 possessions in a row where he was a positive impact. It wasn't gonna take much to swing this game in either team's favor. UNC made those plays in the last few minutes. Hurt Gonzaga not having Collins on the court for sure.
